Creating a Collage using Patterned Paper

Creating a Collage using Patterned Paper

Hi friends!

I love to build layers on my cards, and the collage technique is a favorite of mine! Unity has some of the best items to use for collages! Today’s card will feature the Bohemian Dreams paper pad as well as Eiffel Grunge stamp set!

First, I chose 2 sheets of paper from the Bohemian Dreams paper pad. This set is incredibly beautiful and is coordinated so that any sheets work together nicely! I grabbed a bold pattern and a more abstract pattern. I adhered the abstract pattern to a 5.5×4.25 card base. Then I tore the bold piece of patterned paper (they have roses on them). I adhered one half of that piece over the other abstract paper. Next, I grabbed a stamp from Eiffel Grunge stamp set and lightly stamped over the papers with brown ink.

You can see in the photo above how the papers work together! Tearing paper up might seem scary, but it actually provides an interesting effect! You can also ink up the torn edge of the paper for a grunge look!

Speaking of inking up, I inked up the edges of the card panel with a brown ink to add that grungy effect! Then I cut out 2 pieces of a design from the paper set so that it looks like ephemera, inked up the edges, and adhered them side by side on the top of the card panel.

The last step was to add the sentiment, which Unity sent to me with one of my previous subscription kits! I adhered the sentiment over a piece of torn paper from the Bohemian Dreams set, adhered it to the card panel, and finished with a bow!

Creating a collage effect on your card is very simple. Only a few steps can get you a fantastic looking card that people will ask “how did you do that”?” Thanks for stopping by! To shop the products from this post, click on the description to be linked to the store!
