Hi friends!
I love to take my Unity Stamp Co. flower stamps and create a vintage, grunge look to my card. Unity makes it so easy with the details in their stamps as well as the lovely array of patterned paper they have in their shop! For today’s card, I’ll be using Emotions Unfolded stamp and Grit & Grace patterned paper.
First, I stamped the flower piece from Emotions Unfolded onto a piece of white cardstock with permanent black ink. Next, I colored it with my Copic markers in shades of teal and yellow/green. The butterfly was so fun to color! Then I went over the surrounding area of the panel with a light brown ink so that the panel wasn’t so white. Next, I tore the panel above and below the flower with my hands and inked up the jagged edges with black ink, which helps the jagged edges pop and frames the focal point nicely!
Next, I chose a piece of patterned paper from Grit & Grace that had a printed pattern on it to coordinate with the print on the stamp. I tore the top and bottom of the paper as I had done previously and inked up the jagged edges with black ink. I tore this piece slightly larger than the floral stamp and adhered the floral stamp over it. You can see the patterned paper peeking out from behind the flower stamp and the inked up, jagged edges really bring the card to next level awesome! I also added gold paste to the jagged edges for shine and texture and tapped the excess paste over the flower for a bit of shine!
Last step was to adhere both layers to a piece of patterned paper that Unity had included in one of my subscription kits (they send you goodies each month with the kit!). I thought the pattern from this piece of paper complimented the flower from Emotions Unfolded. After 3 of the layers were adhered together, I inked up all 4 edges with black ink as well as the sentiment. to bring it all together I finished by adding a button (that was also sent with my subscription kit!).
I just adore this card because of the combination of bold grunge with delicate florals! I’m so happy you stopped by today! To shop the items used for this card, lick on the description to be linked to the Unity Stamp Co. shop!
