Hello Unity Friends! I am excited to be back on the blog today to share a 1 layer design with you! Today I am using the stamp set You Are Forever Beautiful as my focal image for my project. So let’s get started!
I started with a piece of hot press watercolor paper. I prepped the surface with my anti static powder tool. I then stamped the floral image using a beige dye ink, then re-inked the stamped in my misti with an embossing ink and then heat set the image with a gold embossing powder. Next I repeated the same process in the top corner. Once the image was stamped I taped the panel onto my hard surface (a clip board) and watercolored the image using my Distress water color pencils.
I colored the image in layers, starting with my lightest layer and then continued to build colors as each layer dried. Once the floral was complete, I trimmed the panel using my deckle trimmer. I then roughed up the edges using a distress tool. You can also use a pair of scissors to distress the edges.
Next I placed the panel onto my glass surface and added Distress Inks onto a piece of acetate. I smoosh the ink pad onto the surface (acetate), add water using a spray bottle, then “smoosh” the acetate onto sections of the card panel. For this piece I did the smooshing in the middle/diagonal section (between the flowers). I used 3 colors of Distress Inks ( Antique Linen, Tea Dye, and Shabby Shutters). I use my heat tool to dry between layers. Next I added texture to the background section using stamps from the Eiffel Grunge stamp set. Once the inking was complete, I adding ink to the card panel edges using Vintage Photo and my blending tool.
I completed the card, by adhering the panel onto an A2 card base. I added a twine bow to the top using May Arts twine and a sentiment strip from my stash.
I had a lot of fun putting this piece together! I hope you enjoyed it! I will be back next week with more inspiration!
Natasha
