Hi friends!
I’m not big on fishing, but my son and son-in-law both love to fish, so my card today will likely be for one of them! What I do like about fishing, however, is how quiet and peaceful it is. So the design I’ve chosen was perfect for a lazy summertime card!
For my card, I’ll be using June’s Kit of the Month and the Barnyard Blowout patterned paper.
First, I stamped the image of the gentleman fisherman from the kit onto a piece of white cardstock. Then I colored it with my Copic markers, trimmed it down along with a piece of black cardstock slightly larger, and adhered the 2 layers together. I did the same with the sentiment from the kit. Then I focused on the background. Oh, and the sentiment was perfect for this card!
I chose 3 sheets of paper from Barnyard Blowout paper pad that coordinated with the man’s outfit. I created a collage with the paper by tearing pieces of it and adhering it over a base color from the paper pad. I also inked up the edges with brown ink. When you’re creating a collage like this, using patterned paper that is coordinated for you is very helpful! Then you’re free to just play! If you’re not a fan of tearing paper, you could trim a few pieces and layer them together!
Next, I adhered the gentleman fisherman and the sentiment over the collage background, and that was it!
