Let’s Create a Layered Card | Mixed Media Thursday

Let’s Create a Layered Card | Mixed Media Thursday

Hello Unity Friends, it is Natasha here today with a layered card for Mixed Media Thursday!  Today I am creating a layered card look using gel prints, dies, as well as stamps!  So let’s get started! I created this card for my husband for father’s day!  I hope he likes it!

I started my card with 2 gelli prints from my stash.  I used the one gelli print as my background layer for my card.  I started by adding texture to the background using stamps from 2 sets: Let Adventure and Eiffel Grunge.  I stamped images across the background using Archival Ink.  Once the stamping was complete, I trimmed the panel using my deckle trimmer and distressed the edges using my distress tool.

Next I used the 2nd gelli print from my stash and trimmed the panel into a tag shape using a tag die.  I also stamped onto the tag using Let Adventure and Eiffel Grunge.  I then added Distress Ink in black soot to the edges of the tag, as well as the larger background panel.  I set these both aside.

Next I stamped the beer cans from the Cheers Bruh stamp set onto an inked panel from my stash.  Once the images were stamped I fussy cut each of the cans and set the 3rd one aside for a later time.  I darkened the edges by adding Distress Ink around the can edges.  I then stamped 2 sentiments from the Cheers Bruh stamp set onto a white card stock.  I trimmed the sentiments using my paper trimmer into sentiment strips and distressed the edges as well.

I completed the card by die cutting 3 hearts using a die and a pre-made background.  I added texture to the hearts using embossing powder and Archival Ink.  I then stamped the #1 image using The Best Stamp set.  I then trimmed this using a circle die.  I adhered all the layers of the card together onto a top folding A2 card base.  I added a piece of dark blue card stock as the base layer, then added all the layers on top using foam tape, as well as liquid glue.  I completed the card with gold splatters!

I had a lot of fun creating this card for my husband!  I hope this card inspires you to use some of those backgrounds or even pattern papers from your stash!

I will be back next week!
