Happy Summer Tuesday

July 23, 2024 - by Maria Levine

Happy Summer Tuesday

Hi there! Maria here today with a simple Tuesday post.  So have you seen this new kit that was just recently released?   This cutie is called Wild Surprises by the amazing Lisa Arana.

I wanted to make a card using this kit immediately and I made this card at first:
I used alcohol markers to color him in.  Dies are by spellbinders and the pattern paper behind him is Unity’s pattern paper called Rustic Textiles.  Some twine on the bottom is simple twine from the craft store and that cute button I’ve had in my stash for years.

After creating this card though I wanted to use this cute moose for other things like outside of card making and I decided to create a mixed media journal page for fun.  I’m creating in the Mixed Media soft cover journal by Strathmore.

Once again I used alcohol markers to color him in and picked some fun pattern papers.  This is by Recollections I got at Michael’s.

I started this journal page before I thought it would be awesome for this moose so this is the start.  I used a cool woodlands stencil by Hero arts and inked the background.  I always like to used low tack tape on the edges of my journals it gives a nice clean edge.

Moose is cut out and the pattern papers are ripped and ready.  Ripping your papers gives it a nice texture.  I also inked the edges of the sentiments.

Once I adhered all the pieces down I wanted to outline them so I used the Stabilo Aquarelleable pencil.  This pencil is very water reactive if you add water but you can also just use your finger and smudge all the lines a little bit.  It’s also a fantastic dark black.

And here is the finished page:

Thanks for stopping by!
