Hello Unity friends, it is Natasha back on the blog for Mixed Media Thursday! Today I am sharing a card using a few favorite sets, as well as pattern paper to create layers! So let’s get started!
I started by stamping out images onto Bristol Smooth paper. I chose this paper as I wanted to color with my zig markers. I prepped the surface with my antic-static powder tool, stamped using Versafine Ink, and heat set with clear embossing powder. I stamped images from: Emotions Unfolded, Envelope of Love, and All for Love. Once the images were stamped , I colored each of the panels using my zig markers. I start with my lightest color, allow the layer to completely dry, then continue to build layers until I have the color I am looking for.
Once the 3 panels were colored, I die cut the 3 panels using a circle die. I then darkened the edges of each using Distress Ink. On the 2 smaller circles I also applied white gesso with a paintbrush for added interest/texture. I set these all aside to work on my background.
Next I looked in my Unity Stash from my free gifts… I LOVE all the free gifts that Unity sends with my orders and I found coordinating pattern paper in my free gift stash. On the background panel I added Distress Oxides, as well as water droplets. I then adhered this layer to a top folding card base. Next I chose another coordinating piece, tore 2 of the corner edges on the paper, applied Distress Ink to the edges, as well as White Gesso in some sections for added interest. I then adhered the pattern paper layer, thread, as well as the 3 circle die cuts. I then added splatters to the card front. Once the splatters were dry, I added a sentiment strip to complete my card!
I had a lot of fun creating today’s card! I will be back next week for more Mixed Media fun! Have a great week!
