Serene Silhouettes | Mixed Media Thursday

Serene Silhouettes | Mixed Media Thursday

Hello Unity Friends,  I am excited to be back on the blog today.  Today I am sharing a card using the new Serene Silhouettes.  I had a lot of fun with this set, so let’s get started.

I started with a piece of white card stock and a moon mask stencil.  I created a background around the stencil using Distress Oxide Inks.  I used:  Stormy Sky, Uncharted Mariner, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, and Gathered Twigs.  I continued to ink blend with these colors around the moon, as well as within the moon until I had the texture I was looking for.  Once the ink blending was complete, I added water droplets to the background to activate my ink blending and I picked up the color with a paper towel.  Next I stamped the floral stems from the Hope Discover Find stamp set using Distress Oxide Ink in Stormy Sky and Wilted Violet.  I stamped the silhouette image along the background.

Next I stamped the Serene Silhouettes along the background using Archival Ink.  I allowed the panel to fully dry, then added white splatters to the background, as well as splatters using Distress Mica Stain.  I then die cut an extra background panel from my stash using a Sizzix Wildflower stem die.  I die cut 3 florals and then spritzed them with Distress Mica Stain.  I set these aside to dry, then stamped the sentiment from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set.

I trimmed my background panel using my deckle edge trimmer, then added Distress Ink to the edges.  I completed the card by adding twine around the panel,  adhering the floral stems and the sentiment.  I had a lot of fun putting today’s card together!

Thank you for stopping by, I will see you next week!
