Hi friends!
I love to find as many ways as possible to use my supply stash, so today I want to show you 2 cards using the September Kit of the Month and Unity’s AMAZING patterned paper! Each card looks completely different!
For my first card, I’ll be using the poinsettia from the Sept KOM, my Copic markers, and North Pole paper collection!
First, I stamped the poinsettia onto a piece of white cardstock using permanent black ink. Then I colored it in shades of blue and brown with my Copic markers. I searched for Poinsettias and found a lovely image in shades of blue, so I colored mine in similar shades. Then I fussy cut the flowers and set them aside along with one of the sentiments from the KOM that says, “Warm Winter Wishes”. Below is a closer look at the flowers in the KOM and all that glorious detail!
Next, I worked on a festive background for the flowers using North Pole paper collection! This is a wonderful collection of mixed media style papers! I grabbed 2 sheets and adhered the newspaper printed sheet onto a 5.5×4.25 card base. Then I tore the other paper on 2 sides, inked up the torn edges in brown, and adhered it over the newspaper pattern. Then I stamped the scripted stamp from the September KOM in black ink, tore 2 of the edges, inked up the entire panel in brown, and adhered it over the other torn piece of paper. You can see each layer! In the photo below, you can get a good view of it!
Finally, I adhered the sentiment and flowers (popped up on foam tape for dimension) and then inked up around the entire card panel in brown and black. I finished with a spritz spray that added some lovely shine to my card and glossy accents over the center of the poinsettias!
Next card uses the same poinsettia from the September KOM, Blossom Avenue patterned paper (sigh, this is such a lovely set) and my Copic markers again!
Similar to the first card, I colored the poinsettia and fussy cut it, along with another sentiment from the KOM that says, “May the holidays be filled with magic & wonder”. Only this time, I colored the poinsettia in shades of coral and the leaves in green!
Next, I chose 2 sheets from the AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS Blossom Avenue paper pad! I adhered the green print onto a 5.5×4.25 card base. Then I tore the newspaper print down the middle at an angle, inked up the jagged edge in black, added a touch of gold paste to the jagged edge, and adhered that layer over the other one. Then I inked up around the entire card panel in black and added the gold paste in random places.
I added gold paste to the sentiment and the poinsettia and adhered both over the patterned paper. Then I applied a gold DecoPen over the center of the poinsettias to finish the card! I also splattered a bit of spritz over the panel for added shine!
So, there you have it – 2 cards using the same stamp but different colors and different backgrounds! Even the details are different! Which one do you like better? How many more cards do you think I can get using this same stamp? I may play around with more!
