Colorful Artist Trading Cards | Mixed Media Thursday

Colorful Artist Trading Cards | Mixed Media Thursday

Hello Unity friends, I am excited to be back for a new week sharing 2 colorful ATC’s (Artist Trading Cards). I had fun combining sets within my stash!  So let’s get started!

For today’s project I started by stamping the Distressed Dots Background onto a piece of Canson watercolor paper.  This is a retired background stamp, be sure to check out the supply list below for a similar option available.  I stamped the image using embossing ink and heat set the image using white embossing powder.  Next I taped my embossed panel onto a hard surface to prevent warping.  I then applied Lindy’s Gang Magical powders onto the background.  I apply the powders using a fan brush, spritz them with water, then allow the magicals to do the work.  Be careful not to apply too much water!  I then allow the panel to dry and repeat areas as needed for added color and texture.

Once the panel was dry I looked in my stash of “extra” backgrounds.  I chose the blue and green “extra” panels.  I then stamped the floral images onto these panels using Archival ink.  The flowers are from the Hello Lovely and Prairie Blooms stamp sets.  I then tore the panels for added texture and darkened the edges using Distress Ink.

Next I determined the layout for each ATC and added book paper behind each floral.  I lightly spritzed the paper with a brown spray for added texture.  I then adhered these layers together using liquid glue.  I also darkened the edges of each ATC with Distress Ink.  I completed each ATC with a sentiment from the set Wonderful and Simple Things.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I will be back in a couple week for more mixed media fun!
