Hello, I am excited to be up on the Unity blog today! Today I am sharing a colorful card using the beautiful You are Forever Beautiful stamp set! I absolutely love this set and had fun getting inky this week! So let’s get started!
I started with a piece of canson watercolor cardstock. I inked up the Forever Beautiful stamp set using distress ink. I stamped the image a couple of times, as well as lightly spritzed the stamp with water and stamped the florals one more time. I love adding a bit of water to the ink for the distressed look. I then left the stamp in my stamping platform as I will stamp the floral after my watercoloring is completed.
Next I watercolored the image using Distress watercolor pencils. I color in layers, working from lightest to darkest, allowing each layer to dry. Once the floral was completely colored I placed my panel in my platform and stamped the image again with the distress ink. I love the look and the added depth the additional layer provides. Next I stamped another floral image and repeated the same process.
Once my panel was complete with the floral images, I added texture using stamps, as well as color around the florals. I started by adding additional watercolor around the florals for an added distress look and texture. I used a light green, patina watercolor and with the brown from the distress ink, it gave me a cool color and texture. I then added stamping for added visual interest using the A Faithful Letter and Reversed Punchinella set.
I completed the card by trimming the panel with my deckle edge trimmer and used my distress tool around the edges. I then darkened the edges with distress ink. I added a sentiment strip from Unity to complete my card!
