Hello Unity friends, I am excited to be back on the blog today sharing a quick idea on creating Artist Trading Cards! So let’s get started!
I started with a background from my stash. The background was created using pigment powders, as well as a stencil. I trimmed the background into 2 Artist Trading Cards using a die in my stash. Once the cards were die cut, I stamped the beautiful flower onto each card from the Magical Motif set using Archival Ink. Once the floral image was stamped, I added texture to the background using both white gesso and a text stamp from the Eiffel Grunge stamp set.
I stamped the text randomly across each background using a Charcoal Ink. Once everything was dry I used a paintbrush to apply white gesso in various places on the background. I applied the gesso with a paintbrush and move the gesso with the brush. I allowed this to completely dry. Once everything was dry I distressed the edges using Black Soot Distress Ink.
Next I added splatters to the backgrounds using a gold metallic watercolor. I then assembled each card by adding cheesecloth stapled to each ATC, as well as an ephemera butterfly from my stash. I added a sentiment to each using a Unity Sentiment strip. I had a lot of fun putting these together! I enjoy creating ATC’s and sharing them with a friend!
I hope you have a great day!
Natasha
