Hi friends!
I’m going to share a vintage card using the gorgeous flowers from November’s Kit of the Month along with patterned paper from a lovely set called Blossom Avenue!
First, I chose my usual 3 sheets of patterned paper from Blossom Avenue so that I had a color palette ready to use for my flowers. Next, I colored the bouquet of flowers with my Copic markers in R81, R85, and R35. The leaves were in BG49, BG78, and BG13. Then I fussy cut the flowers and went around the edges with a black marker to create a black border (this gives it a clean look since fussy cutting is a bit messier than die cutting). I added black ink to the stamins as well as a gold GelPen.
Once the flowers were colored and die cut, I was ready to do the layout of my patterned paper. This flower is large, so I wanted the patterned paper to peek around the flower! One pattern was trimmed to 5.5×4.25 and adhered over a card base. The next 2 patterns were torn on either end, inked up with black ink and a beautiful turquoise paste (sigh), and then adhered together and placed over the base. I added the same turquoise paste over the leaves of the flower, popped the flower onto foam tape, and adhered it at an angle over the patterned paper so that a good chunk of the patterned paper was showing up behind the flower. Then I stamped the sentiment and “grunged” it up by inking around it with the same black ink. I popped that up with foam tape as well and adhered it over the flower.
TIP: I like to place my sentiments as close to the focal point as possible so that they don’t look like they are “floating” all alone by itself.
I’m so happy you joined me today and I hope you felt inspired to play with the patterned paper in your stash along with your stamps! To shop the items used in this post, click on the descriptions to be taken to the Unity shop!
