Hi friends!
I’m always a fan of getting a bouquet of roses from my husband, but I’m sad when the flowers die, and I have to throw them away. Today’s card, however, is a bouquet of roses that will never die! I’ll be using December’s Background of the Month, my alcohol markers, black permanent ink, and Serene Silhouettes stamp for the sentiment!
I fell in love with December’s KOM right away because I love to color flowers! First, I stamped the background image onto a piece of white 5.5×4.25 cardstock using permanent black ink. This type of ink works well with alcohol markers because it won’t bleed. Next, I colored the roses using Copic markers in RV13, RV14, RV RV17, RV19. The leaves were colored in YG17.
Next, I trimmed the image down with my deckled paper trimmer to 5.25 x 4 and adhered it over another stamped image of the same background in black and white. If you look in the photo above, the colored image lines up with the black and white image behind it! Just another fun and interesting detail to make a card go from average to WOW!
Last step was to add a sentiment using Serene Silhouettes. Then at the last minute, I decided to spray the entire panel with a shimmer spray, giving it a beautiful shimmery look!
This was so much fun to create! Another option if you aren’t big with coloring is to apply ink in various shades over the roses using a mini blending brush, blending the colors together! If you use reactive inks, you can add water droplets to get an even cooler effect!
