Welcome, Gaylynn here. Here is a Joy and Peace pinecone shimmer Christmas card with dry embossing. I made this in two steps. The pinecone was stamped and cut and then the background was dry embossed using an embossing folder. I had the folder on hand so I thought it would pair well with the clear stamp. A gold shimmer marker was added to the pinecone layer at the end.
Sentiment:
May you find joy & peace this Christmas.
This card features Unity’s “All Peace. All Joy” Clearly Unity clear stamp set. The supplies used to make the elements are linked below along with a quick video.
Helpful Tips:
-
Prepare an A2-sized side fold card base from white cardstock, 4 1/4″ x 5.5″ folded.
-
Stamp the pinecone and the sentiment onto kraft color cardstock.
-
Color the pinecone and the leaves. I used Copic markers, but use what you have on hand.
-
Fussy cut (cut out) the pinecone staming. And, trim the sentiment.
-
Add vintage photo distress ink blending around the edges of the pinecone and the sentiment label.
-
Over the pinecones and leaves, add a light layer of shimmer from a Nuvo aqua shimmer marker or something similar. Dry.
-
For the background, mist lightly with water then emboss a pinecone pattern using a 3D or similar embossing folder onto dark green cardstock.
-
Trim the green panel approximately 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″.
-
Layer the embossed panel and the finished pinecone and sentiment over the card base, to finish.
Finally, this is a closer look at today’s card project.
Finally, see the quick video of the process.
