Happy Monday! I’m here with a Valentine’s Day card for my sweet grandson. He loves the color blue so that is the focus on today’s card. First up I dug through my hoard of 6×6 paper packs and found this really old pack. Tip- if you love some papers buy 2 packs hee hee. I do that even with my Unity paper packs- I’m obsessed.
First thing I do when using patterned papers is choose a few papers to get an idea of what I want to go together and then what colors I’ll be using. I’m coloring with Copic markers so next I go to my Copic color chart to match my papers to my ink colors. I have had many people through the years tell me they love how my images match my paper and this is my simple trick.
Now with some ink choices for coloring I get my image done and I think it compliments the image well!
Now to design my card. I based my card on last week’s design to keep it simple and easy. If you have a design you love don’t be afraid to reuse it. Keep things simple. Here’s another tip I learned from my fellow crafters- when using foam tape put a bit of liquid glue on the foam to give you a few minutes of wiggle room.
My card is done. After it was done and dried I realized my sentiment panel wasn’t cut straight. Oh well that’s what make is handmade. LOL. My grandson will still love it and smile when he gets to open his own mail.
Unity supplies used:
*Big scallop and rectangle dies
I hope you are inspired by today’s card and get some crafty time in!
