Hello, crafty friends! Lisa here to start the year with a fresh and fabulous card featuring techniques you’ll love. This project highlights the January 2025 Kit of the Month, packed with sweet images celebrating love, friendship, and home. My card is one of two featured in this month’s membership insert, it combines quick ink smooshing and stenciling for a beautiful background that’s simple yet stunning. With easy techniques and adorable details, this card is perfect for Valentine’s Day or any occasion where hugs are needed!

Assembly Instructions

Create an A2 (4.25″ x 5.5″) card base with black cardstock.

Using acetate, ink smoosh with Kitsch Flamingo Distress ink on watercolor paper. Smoosh one layer, dry with a heat tool, and repeat another layer until you are happy. Dry with a heat tool or set aside to dry completely.

Mask off the bottom of the ink smooshed area with low tack masking tape.

Stencil hearts over the background using Picked Raspberry Distress ink and a heart stencil.

Die cut the background with a stitched rectangle die.

Stamp the dogs from the KOM in black ink on white cardstock and fussy cut.

Stamp the sentiment on white cardstock and die cut with a stitched sentiment die.

Adhere all to the card front as shown popping up the dog and sentiment with foam adhesive.
