Welcome to Membership Thursday with meeee! Today I have a fun, springlike card to share. I’ll be combining elements from 2 of the membership kits into one card! I think this is a great way to get the most of your kits! I’ll be using February Kit of the Month, Whit Kit, Heart die plate, alcohol markers, and nesting square dies.
First, I stamped the image of the beautiful flowers from the Kit of the Month onto a piece of white cardstock and colored it using my alcohol markers. I wasn’t worried about details in coloring as these images are small, so I simply focused on adding bright color. I trimmed the panel using a square nesting die, along with a larger one in black, and adhered them together so the black “framed” the flowers. I did the same with the sentiment from Whit Kit.
Next, I stamped an image of 2 geese snuggling together from February’s Whit Kit and colored them in shades of grey, adding touches of color similar to the flower bouquet. I fussy cut the geese, placed foam tape behind them, and adhered them to the lower right corner in front of the bouquet so they looked like they were snuggling amongst the flowers! You can see them in the photo above!
Last step was to create a background, and a heart die plate came to mind to complement the lovebird geese! I die cut the heart die plate onto a piece of white cardstock, adhered it over a piece of hombre cardstock in yellow and green (I had it on hand and it seemed perfect), and adhered both over a 5.5×4.25 white card base. Then I adhered the floral bouquet and sentiment over it and finished with glossy accents over the flower stamins.
I love how I was able to combine critters with flowers from different stamp sets! It can really bring out the creativity and make the most use of your stamps! Give it a try!
