Happy Monday! I’m sharing with you today a fun galaxy background technique and a card sure to please the gamers in your life! I started out with some Bristol Smooth cardstock as it is fantastic to use for blending inks.
I then grabbed some Distress oxide ink colors to make the first step of my background. I added it randomly around my paper to get the look I was going for. One thing to know about this technique is it looks awful till it doesn’t.
Just a random swirly background. Note my paper is about 6×8 inches so I would be able to choose what part of the image I would be using when making it 4 x 5.25 inches.
Next I go over it all with Black soot. I had a lighter hand when going over it to allow the color to still show from underneath the black layer. Next I sprayed water droplets on it.
I dabbed up the excess water and I was pleased with how the current ‘hot mess’ was turning out LOL.
I then added some white and gold ink splatters to give it more of a starry heavenly look. I set it aside to dry and colored my game controller for the focal image and got my sentiment ready.
How fun is that!!! I’m happy to say the recipient loved it and even my gamer husband was impressed. I love how Unity has images for some many parts of life you are sure to find what you are looking for. I hope you try this technique and enjoy it!
