Hi friends!
How many of you love a good book? And then get sad when the book is finished? Well, I’ve got a great design image from the March Kit of the Month for we book nerds! If you haven’t seen March’s Kit of the Month, click here because you are going to want this one!
i fell in love with this design as soon as I saw it! I stamped the girl reading her book onto a piece of white cardstock using black ink.
TIP: I use this ink because it won’t bleed when I color with my alcohol markers. And I use this paper for coloring!
Getting back to the card, I colored the girl and her outfit using my Copic markers. I kept the coloring simple since the image is a bit small. Then I added a gold gel pen to a few strands of her hair, just for added interest! I also added some over her eyes for a cool shadow look! You can see the details in the photo below!
Next, I colored some dirt beneath the girl with my Copic markers so that it appears that she is “grounding” outside, reading her book! She’s a healthy young girl!
Once she was colored, I die cut her with the Deckled nesting dies, along with a piece of black cardstock slightly larger than the girl panel and a piece of patterned paper from Magnolia Dreams paper pad! Whew, that’s a lot of die cutting! Everything was adhered together and placed onto a black card base, sized 5.5×4.25. We’ve got some good layering happening here!
I finished the card with sequins over the flowers in her hair, glossy accents on her lips, and a sentiment from the March Kit! I love how she turned out!
