Happy Friday! It’s Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules on the blog today with a special intention. My hope today is to inspire shared hope in our community through crafting. It’s a small task with huge benefits. These little paper hugs can make a difference… you make a difference.
This new line of stamps, In the LIGHT {Lift, Inspire, Grow, Hope, Transform} helps us find the words to help others in darker days. I can share that there was a time that I struggled to see the light daily. It took one of my best friends to give me a little tough love and tell me that if I didn’t work with a therapist, that she couldn’t not watch my demise. Harsh, but it was the push I needed. My mind was so focused on what I had lost, I wasn’t paying attention to the beautiful people I still had beside me.
When I saw this sentiment from the new “Love Stays, No Matter What,” I felt it in my soul. This is what my bestie was trying to say. The way this beautiful Angie girl sits is emotional, even as a drawing. I can feel all the feelings.
To create this card, I started by stamping the girl and sentiment and die cutting it with the stitched rectangle. I also stamped the girl again and fussy cut her out and die cut the bottom edge using the same stitched rectangle die. I also stamped and fussy cut the “hey” from the new “Say It Loud & Clear” stamp set that goes perfectly with everything and ANYTHING!
Using Pumice Stone Distress ink, I added ink around the girl on the rectangle. I used Copics to color the fussy cut girl. Lastly, I used the Make-A-Tag die set to die cut two tags from the Vintage Petals Collection Ephemera pack.
I added a few layers, some think foam tape and neutral twine to bring this card together. And hopefully with be a gentle reminder to someone that they are not alone through their struggle.
This new stamp series will help bring others out of the dark and Into the LIGHT.
