Hello friends, Lisa here with a fun card to inspire you to get inky with your stamps.

Today’s cards are all about using up those leftovers. I started out creating just one card that quickly turned into three! I’m featuring some lovely Unity Stamp Company stamps and amazing papers curated by Your Paper Insider. They sent me one of their quarterly membership boxes, and I’m kinda in love. Such a wonderful assortment of papers, I would have never found myself. They go beautifully with some of my favorite Unity stamps.

Vintage Ink Smooshing and Embossing

For the first card, I started with a vintage-inspired background using ink smooshing on watercolor paper. To add a hint of scripty texture, I heat embossed a script background and added some white splatters. The floral die cuts were created from specialty paper, and I heat embossed the butterfly on vellum for a soft, dreamy touch. To finish it off, I added tiny matte silver pearls for subtle embellishment.

What Makes This Trio Special:

1. Uses up leftover pieces: I love how these cards make the most of every scrap of paper, from the pink die cut stems to the vellum butterfly accents.
2. Beautiful color palette: The pink, grey, and white combination gives the cards an elegant, timeless feel.
3. Different styles and techniques: From vintage to clean and simple, these cards offer a variety of styles and techniques, making them perfect for any occasion.

Simple, Elegant Design with Vellum Accents

For the second card, I used the leftover pink shimmery die cut pieces from the first card. I trimmed each panel to 5″ x 1″ and adhered them onto a 3.5″ x 5.25″ piece of off-white cardstock. I placed a torn piece of vellum behind the sentiment for added texture, and added tiny white pearls around the butterfly to enhance the design.

Leave No Scrap Behind Bonus Card

I’m using all the leftovers from the first two cards, making it the perfect bonus card! I used the negative die cut from the specialty paper that was used to cut the flowers, along with an extra pink leaf stem and a butterfly. To add a bit of distress, I created that mixed media background again and roughed up the edges with my scissors. The matte silver pearls are added for extra shine, and the result is a perfectly coordinated, yet beautifully unique.

Creative Tips & Techniques:

1. Ink smooshing: Use watercolor paper and acetate for ink smooshing to get a fun, textured look. Don’t worry about getting it perfect—it’s all about the natural flow of color.
2. Heat embossing on vellum: Embossing on vellum softens the design, giving it a delicate touch while still making the details pop.
3. Using leftovers: Don’t toss those extra pieces! These cards show just how well you can use the leftover die cuts, scraps, and accents to create something new and beautiful.
