Hi friends!
Welcome to Membership Thursday! This week I’ll be playing with the ADORABLE Uniquely Unity kit for April! I’ll also be using Barnyard Blowout patterned paper, sunray stencil, Copic markers in YG09, YG05, YG03, Y19, Y15, Y11, B34, B32, B78, die ink in 2 shades of green, tag nesting dies (click here for Unity’s full selection), crinkly ribbon, and sequins! So much goodness here!
First, I stamped the cutie pie bird and flower onto a piece of white cardstock using permanent black ink. Then I colored the bird and flower using the Copic marker colors mentioned above. After I finished coloring, I applied the sunray stencil over the image and stenciled through it with 2 shades of green ink, being sure not to get ink onto the image (this is where mini blending brushes come in handy, I use these).
Once the coloring and stenciling were finished, I die cut the bird along with a piece of patterned paper from Barnyard Blowout (as seen in the photo below) and adhered them together, adding a crinkly ribbon through the hole (any of your favorite ribbons will do).
Next, I chose 2 more pieces of patterned paper from the same set and created a background by trimming one piece to 5.5×4.25 and adhering it to a card base of the same size. Then I took a 3rd piece of patterned paper, tore each end, and adhered that over the other piece of paper. Below is a visual of what it looked like before adhering all the layers together on the card.
I adhered the bird tag die over the background panel at an angle and then added sequins to the flower and glossy accents to the bird’s eyes and nose. I finished with 2 cute sentiments from the Uniquely Unity set!
Just love how this turned out with the bold colors and that CUTE bird! Get your patterned paper together and build some lovely backgrounds using the techniques I suggested! Unity has a great selection of patterned paper that can be found by clicking here.
