Hello and welcome to the Unity blog. I’m Gaylynn. Use your crafty stash. It is always a good idea to use your scrap stash for card making projects. I discovered treasures in my scrap box and pulled out great papers. They just needed to be trimmed to size, but worked great for this green monster card.
I try not to keep more than a box of scrap pieces and I do reach in there from time to time. Be sure to see the project supply list below.
Sentiment: Eye think you’re amazing!
Helpful Tips:
-
Prepare an A2-sized card base from white cardstock, 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ folded.
-
Stamp the monster and the sentiment onto smooth white cardstock using you marker-friendly black ink.
-
Color the monster. I used Copic markers in a mix of yellow greens, tan, brown and blue.
-
Trim or die-cut the monster stamping.
-
Trim or die-cut a panel in black for the monster frame.
-
Die-cut or trim the sentiment.
-
Find background and accent paper pieces or embellishments from your scrap craft stash. (I found a metallic watercolor black panel, a pre-cut mini slimline green panel, black cardstock pieces and a polka dot piece of patterned paper. They all matched perfectly.)
-
Adhere all the layered elements with the monster panel as the focal point.
Finally, here is a closer look at this fun greeting.
