As we get close to Father’s Day, I wanted to share the perfect card for the man in your life! We’ll be using May’s Kit of the Month and Barnyard Bouquet patterned paper!
First step was to choose the patterned paper for my background, as the colors from my paper selection would dictate the colors I use on my focal image. I chose 3 coordinating sheets from Barnyard Blowout. I love this set of paper because it’s masculine and very colorful! I trimmed all of the papers to 5.5×4.25 and adhered one layer to a card base, tore 2 layers at an angle, and adhered those 2 layers over the first layer. I inked up the torn edges a bit so that you can see each of the layer’s peeking through!
I stamped the image of the young man sleeping on the hammock onto white cardstock using black ink. Then I colored the image using similar shades as the background to get a cohesive effect. I added clouds using a cloud stencil for added interest. Then I trimmed the image and placed it over a piece of black cardstock and trimmed that layer slightly larger to create a framed effect. I adhered the image at an angle over the background I had created with the patterned paper and finished with a sentiment!
I love how perfect this card is for the man in your life, whether it be dad, brother, son, or friend! It can also be used for birthdays or just to say hello! That’s what I love about the kit of the month stamps, there are so many ways to use them!
