Today’s card is sweet and simple, like the sentiment says! I’m using one of the designs from May Kit of the Month along with Jubilant Tapestry patterned paper and my Copic markers!
First, I stamped the sweet girl reading a book amongst the flowers onto a piece of white cardstock using black ink. I also chose 2 sheets of paper from Jubilant Tapestry paper pad so that the colors of the girl reading would coordinate with the colors of the patterned paper! Coordinating colors always adds to a card’s cohesiveness!
I grabbed my Copic markers and colored the girl, bunny, and flowers. I added grass by using 3 shades of green and flicking the marker upward. Then I ink blended beneath the girl using 2 shades of brown die ink. Finally, I added clouds behind the girl used a cloud stencil and 2 shades of blue die ink.
I trimmed the finished image down to 4.75×3.50 and inked around the edges with black ink. I stamped the sentiment and die cut it using a circle die and inked around that as well to get a grunge look.
The last step was to prepare the background. I trimmed both sheets of paper from Jubilant Tapestry to 5.5×4.25 (the paper pads are sized 6×6). I adhered one layer over an A2 sized white card base. I tore the 2nd sheet in half at an angle, inked up the jagged edge with black ink, and adhered that layer over the first layer. Then I adhered the scene of the girl reading over the background and placed the sentiment in the upper corner. I finished with white and silver gel pens over the flowers and in her bow!
