Hello crafty friends!
Welcome to Membership Thursday with me as your host! Unity has a great selection of membership kits in a variety of price ranges! I love to use them to mix and match designs on my cards! To learn more about these kits, click here!
Today’s card is PERFECT for the summertime and dreamy vacation on the beach! I’ll be using June’s Kit of the Month!
I stamped the girl on the beach and the coconut umbrella drink onto white cardstock using permanent black ink. Then I colored everything using my Copic markers, keeping the colors bright but minimal. Meaning, I only used a few bold colors that worked well together.
After I colored the girl, I added clouds behind her using a cloud stencil as well as gold and white gel-pens on her ribbons and umbrellas. Then I trimmed each image as small as possible using my deckled edge paper trimmer (you can find that paper trimmer here). I also trimmed 2 of the sentiments from the Kit of the Month and set everything aside to work on the background.
The background was quite easy to create! I stamped Buffalo Check background stamp onto white cardstock using a light blue ink. Then I went back over the background and stamped Coffee Components in 2 of the corners, just for added interest! I trimmed the image using my deckled paper trimmer to 5.25×4 and placed it onto a white card base sized 5.5×4.25.
I completed the card by placing the girl and coconut umbrella drink images at an angle in the opposite corners of where I stamped with the Coffee Components. Then I placed the 2 sentiments on foam tape next to the images, also at an angle. Placing the items at an angle adds a playful, interesting effect to the symmetry of the card!
I love how fun and colorful this card is, don’t you? Now I want to be at the beach with a Pina Colada drink in my hand!
Thanks for stopping by today!
