Today I have a card to share where you’ll need sunglasses to view it! We’ll be using June’s Kit of the Month and Background of the Month!
When I saw the flamingo in the June Kit, I knew that I wanted to create a bold, summery card! To begin, I stamped the flamingo, flower, and leaf from the kit onto a piece of white cardstock using permanent black ink. I colored the flamingo in bright shades of pink with Copic markers in RV02, RV04, RV06, and RV09. The flowers were colored in Y11, Y15, and Y19, and the leaf in YG05, YG09, YG17. Then I fussy cut everything and set it aside to work on the background.
For the background, I stamped June’s Background of the Month, which is a bold checkered design, onto white cardstock using black ink. Using the Deckled & Stitches nesting dies, I die cut the background using the largest size nesting die and also die cut through the center using the smallest sized die. I also die cut a piece of white cardstock using the medium sized die and then applied RV06 around the edges of that panel.
I adhered all the die cuts together onto an A2 sized white card base to create the background. Then I added the flamingo, flower, leaf and cute sentiment over the background. The flower and sentiment were raised with foam tape to add dimension. I finished with glossy accents over the flamingo’s eyes.
This card is bold and FUN! You could change up the color combo by stamping the checkered background in a favorite color of yours! Have fun!! Thanks for stopping by!
