Hi Everyone! Welcome to the Make It Monday blog with me, Sarah. The new school year is right around the corner which means back to school shopping. I remember going with my parents to pick out new supplies for the year. I always wanted the more colorful pencils, notebooks, and highlighters. Today I’m sharing with you some back to school inspiration with a colorful composition notebook style card using the Unity Stamp Co. Classic Composition background stamp. There’s also a little twist to add some sparkle. Keep reading for full instructions!

Supplies:
- Unity Stamp Co. Classic Composition
- Unity Stamp Co. School Day ephemera
- Water color paper
- White cardstock
- Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Oxides
- Stormy Sky, Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed, Kitsch Flamingo, Dusty Concord
- The Crafter’s Workshop Opalescent Stardust Butter
- Ruler
- Black fine liner pen
- Black marker
- Corner rounder
- Black and white twine
- Black die cut hearts
Tutorial:
Step 1: Create an A2 (4.25×5.5″) white card base.
Step 2: Stamp a rainbow assortment of Distress Oxides onto the Classic Composition background stamp. Spritz with water. Stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper. Let dry.
Step 3: Spread Stardust Butter over the composition stamped watercolor paper. Let dry. Trim to 4×5.25.”
Step 4: With the card base in portrait orientation, use a ruler and a black fine liner pen to draw lines onto the right side of the card base. The line closest to the edge should be longest, and the lines gradually get shorter towards the middle. Make enough lines to fill in 0.25″ of the right side of the card base.
Step 5: Using the same fine liner and ruler, draw lines on the top of the card base. Connect the lines to the ones drawn on the right side from Step 4.
Step 6: Adhere the sparkly composition panel onto the bottom left of the card base. It’s starting to look like a notebook!
Step 7: Use a black marker and ruler to draw a 1/8″ line along the left side of the card panel and base.
Step 8: Fussy cut one of the ephemera pieces from the School Day ephemera pack. Place foam dots onto the back of the piece.
Step 9: Create a nest using black and white twine onto the card front. Adhere the ephemera piece from Step 8 onto the twine nest.
Step 10: Finish the card by adding black die cut hearts and round the right corners of the card base.
This card brought back many school memories! I like how you don’t need a lot of supplies to create a simple composition inspired card.
