Rainbow Mini Slimline with The Usual Suspecks

Hi Everyone! Have you seen the latest in the Wonky Ones line? Two more sets have been added this collection! I took inspiration from a previous mini slimline card I made using the Lovebirds & Oddballs set with each bird representing a portion of the rainbow. Today’s card features The Usual Suspecks set and more rainbow birds! Welcome to the Make It Monday blog!

Supplies:

Unity Stamp Co. The Usual Suspecks
White, yellow, and pink cardstock
Mini slimline nesting dies or a paper trimmer
Decorative edge circle die or punch
Color pencils
White gel pen
Purple ink
Enamel heart stickers
Glitter glue

Tutorial:

Step 1: Create a mini slimline card base by trimming a piece of soft pink cardstock to 6.5×7.” Score and fold at 3.5″ on the 7″ side.

Step 2: Stamp the chickies from the Usual Suspecks set onto white cardstock. Color with color pencils or your favorite medium with each chick representing one of the rainbow colors. Use white gel pen for added highlights.

Step 3: Trim the panel with a mini slimline die or a trimmer to 2.8×5.25.”

Step 4: Use a larger decorative edge mini slimline die or your trimmer to trim a yellow cardstock mat to 3.25×6.25.” Adhere the chick panel to the yellow mat. Adhere both to the pink card base.

Step 5: Stamp a sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock. Die cut it using a decorative edge circle die.

Step 6: Use purple ink to lightly ink blend along the edges of the sentiment circle.

Step 7: Adhere the sentiment with foam above the fourth chick. Trim off any overhang from the top.

Step 8: Embellish with glitter glue on the combs and wattles of the birds as well as enamel hearts around the chicks.
