Have you seen the newest release from Unity? There’s a new line called Stash Builders. These sets are great for crafters looking to build their collection at an affordable price as the price will always remain the same. Each set has a main image and sentiment. Today on the Make It Monday blog, I’ll be showing you a classy card using the Keep Shining Sweet Friend set from the Stash Builders line.

Tutorial:

Step 1: Create an A2 (4.25×5.5″) white card base.

Step 2: Die cut a panel using the second largest Postage Stamp die from a piece of purple composition pattern paper. Adhere to the center of the card base.

Step 3: Stamp the lady from Keep Shining Sweet Friend onto white cardstock.

  • Color the blouse in purple shades with the lightest shade for the lapel, medium shade for the blouse, dark shade for shadows.
  • Color the hair in various shades of cool gray to give highlights and lowlights.
  • Color the butterflies in pink.
  • Color the background light blue.

Step 4: Add glue to the lapel of the blouse and sprinkle on silver glitter.

Step 5: Trim the image to 2.25×3.” Mat with a piece of black cardstock that measures 2 3/8 x 3 1/8.” Add foam dots to the back.

Step 6: Adhere the matted panel to the postage panel at an angle.

Step 7: Trim a sentiment from the black Cut Apart Sentiment strips. Add a foam strip to the back, and adhere under the colored image, just above the stitching of the composition postage panel.

Step 8: Embellish with black enamel stars and pink enamel dots at the top right and bottom left corners.

This card is simple, but impactful! I love coloring the hair and blouse in different colors. You can see above an example of using a different set of colors with the same layout. The Stash Builders are fabulous sets with a variety of themes that can help build a foundation for your stamp collection. I hope you give this card a try!
