Hi friends, Lisa here. Today I’m keeping the stamping simple with May Every Season Bring You Closer and letting a pretty heart shaker bring in all the color. I love how the black and white stamping keeps this card clean while the shaker adds the fun.

Sweet & Simple

I started with the heart shaker and made that the main color on the card. I cut the heart partly off the edge, backed it with bright pink cardstock, then added cellophane and glitter to create the shaker. With that all that fun shaker action happening, I knew I could keep everything else really simple.

I stamped the sweet couple from May Every Season Bring You Closer, fussy cut them, and left them completely uncolored. The black and white stamping stands out so nicely against the pink. I popped the couple up over the heart for a little dimension.

To finish it off, I added a small white clay heart above the couple and skipped the sentiment on the front. The open white space keeps the card nice and clean, while the shaker gives it plenty of personality. It is a good reminder that sometimes the best coloring choice is not coloring at all.

Simple stamping can still make a big impact when you give it one fun element to play against. Try leaving your next stamped design black and white and adding one bold color somewhere else on the card. It is an easy way to change up the look without changing the stamp itself.
