Hi everyone, Laurel here with another layout for you. I decided to scrap these old photos of my dad (it’s his birthday today too – 78 years young) and it gave me the perfect excuse to finally ink up that ‘tree ring’ in the I am a Work in Progress SMAK Kit (5/15). I stamped and cut it out then tucked it behind the middle photo in order to draw more interest to it.
I also stamped the Vintage Ledger onto some cardstock, cut it out and cut it in half to tuck behind the photos to pull out more of the green in the photos. Can you tell where else I used it? I don’t know if you know me well enough or not, but I have trouble with cardstock…. I love my pattern paper. When I cut the trees out with my Silhouette, they needed something… I wasn’t happy with the plain cardstock so… I used the Vintage Ledge stamp to add interest to them.
I thought the washi with the days of the week worked well along the bottom as these are photos of my dad one day at work.
Here is a close up of the tree ring tucked in behind the middle photo. I also mounted the middle photo on foam squares for more dimension.
The photos are not the best as they are old photos that I had and they were scanned so not the best quality, but for me, it is about documenting life, not the perfection of it.
Thanks for visiting today.
I would love to hear what your dad did to support your family. My dad was a hard worker and took pride in his job as a faller. What about yours? Let me know in our Facebook group.
