Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. Today, I am sharing no-line watercolor with stamping.
This is an uplifting seashell beach themed card. For this card, I created a natural look to the shells, using a technique called no-line watercolor with stamping.
Sentiment: Always keep a little beach day in your heart.
Unity Stamp Co. products used:
The Ocean Is Calling {smak 1/18}
For this project, I made a quick video tutorial for the no-line watercolor process. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video. However, a written process follows below. The style is vintage and yet lifelike. The typewriter print is meant to be distressed and the shells look natural with this technique.

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
To begin, pre-stamp and/or emboss the sentiment and background panel.
On watercolor paper, stamp the shell with three distress ink pad colors on the same stamp.
Using a stiff brush and water, blend out the colors. If the ink dries too quickly on the paper, add color to a plastic craft mat or acrylic block. Use that as watercolor.
Ranger distress ink pads used: dried marigold, victorian velvet and brushed corduroy.
Allow the colors to blend together. Add more layers of color, if preferred. Heat set at the end.
Finally, fussy cut the shells and then adhere them to the prepared background.
This is a peek at the process.
I used watercolor brushes instead of a water brush as shown in the following photo.
Here is another look at my card.
