Hi, it’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. Here is a sweet good luck card featuring cute birds and Inktense watercolor pencils.
.
This card background and the stamped birds were created using Inktense watercolor pencils for color. With a mix of color and water, the birds were detailed and the background was blended to create a soft look. A fun good luck flag is an added sentiment accent.
Sentiment: We are cheering you on.

I made a quick video tutorial for this. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video. However, the written process follows.

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
Begin by stamping onto watercolor paper. I used Ranger archival ink in jet black. Heat set.
Trim or punch a sentiment panel. Add color by sketching one color at a time.
With a damp brush, gently blend out the color sketches. Dry. Add darker sketches then blend again.
Smooth out the colors where they meet. Add accent colors. Heat set then fussy cut the birds.
Trim a watercolor paper panel. Pick up color from the pencil tip using a wet brush, one color at a time.
Add a layer of water to the panel. Using the background color palette, add dabs of color to the panel.
Heat set and then assemble the card.
Here is another look.
