Happy Tuesday! Crystal here on this very ODD Tuesday enjoying the slow pace and getting back into the crafty mojo. For today’s color combination I wanted to find something bright and happy full of encouragement without too much fuss to make. So today’s color combo is yellow, blue and white. A simple sky color combination, with a fabulous classic stamp set. Layers of Life : Looking Up from February 2017! I am thinking that this collection was made for scrapbookers but it was one of my favorite things to do is to multi-purpose stamp.
For this project you need very basic supplies. Of course the fab stamp
- Layers of Life : Looking Up
- White Cardstock
- 2 Shades of Yellow Ink
- Light Blue ink
- Cloud stencil (you can make your own)
- Ink Blending Brushes
- Adhesive
To make this card begin by ink blending clouds by layering the stencil from the top to bottom leaving white spaces. Let dry and set aside to begin the card base.
For the cardbase, begin by blending the edges in light yellow leaving the center without blend as it will ONE save you time and TWO it will not be seen.
Grab the cluster of stars stamps from the Layers of Life : Looking Up and begin stamping with a darker yellow from the top left corner down the bottom right corner. Slightly overlapping.
Grab your blue stencil cloud paper, trim it and stamp in blue ink with the Never Stop Looking Up. I used a MISTI because I want it to be super dark and solid.
Then I added that clouded strip with TWO layers of foam adhesive over the yellow cardstock. Then on a separate piece of cardstock stamp the largest star from Layers of Life : Looking Up in the same dark yellow ink, hand cut around it and ink blend the corner with that light yellow ink.
With foam adhesive I added the star over the cloud cardstock.
To finish off the card, I splattered some Gold pain over the card at an angle following the stars angle.
I really love the simplicity of this card, and how it can be used for ANY encouraging scenario. Now I wish I had a video for you, but my 4 kids are making it nearly impossible for quiet times. Haha. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this written tutorial .
Happy Tuesday!
