Hello from Sandhya of Sanju’s Creations. February is here and it’s time for a new challenge on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook Page. This month, I thought it would be fun to start building our birthday stash all month long. For my terrarium builder card, I am featuring the Feb Whit-Kit 2021. This kit has a cute terrarium builder with solid succulent stamps and one terrarium cage with coordinating dies. You also get a beautiful paper pack to match the terrarium theme. The sentiment is from the Heart of Autumn sentiment kit. I started out with no plan and played around with some fun techniques to get to my final card.
About My Card
To start with, I die cut the terrarium die out of white Neenah 80lb cardstock and stamped some succulents on it. I stamped the terrarium on a piece of acetate to make a guide so I know where to position the succulents. Then, I used the acetate guide to position the terrarium stamp in my Misti right over the die cut. If that sounds too complicated, you can watch what I did in the video below. You can find the HD version on my YouTube Channel.
Once the terrarium was ready, I punched a hole at the top and added an eyelet using a Corp-a-dile. Then I grabbed a piece of the pattern paper and ripped the edges and used some waxed cord to attach the terrarium. I did some ink blending on my card base using Distress Oxides. Next, I adhered the panel down to the card base using foam tape. I usually stamp out some common sentiments on strips and keep them in a bowl on my desk. I grabbed a happy birthday sentiment strip from the bowl and blended a little ink over it and popped it onto the card.
Thank You
This completes my terrarium builder card and I hope it inspires you to start off with some birthday cards. Also, don’t forget to link up your lovely creations to the challenge album on the Facebook Group. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!
