Hello, Unies!
Welcome August, here we are at the dog days of summer. I can’t believe we only have a few weeks of summer left. (sigh) Dawn Bryson here, your hostess with the mostest for Augusts challenge. I really wanted something that every Unie could play with and use any stamp in their collection, and I thought what do we all have that we can all play along? STENCILS! , Now you may use any stencil in your collection paired with you beloved Unity stamps.
Today Unity has such a fun release. I knew right away I wanted to use this NEW Eeyore Boo-Tifully Disguised (Isn’t he just so cute) This card, was so fun to make and I just love how it turned out.
Tips!
I don’t know if you know this or not, but you can color your texture pastes with a variety of inks and sprays, you don’t need much below is a picture of what I used for this whole panel with no left overs really. I use the Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste by TCW (the crafters workshop) It’s good quality and dries pretty quick, always do your wet panels first so by the time your done your ready to go! I used Tim’s mica spray in flickering candle.
When adding paste with a stencil you’ll want to be sure you don’t thin the paste too much, in this picture to the left you’ll see you can barely see the purple background but to the right you can , that is how you know you need to add more and go a little thicker.
I love making grass with pattern paper I have been asked before how to do this, it’s so easy you need these fun little shears, I cut along the edge then take scissors and wave it out =)
After all my steps are done I add it all together and embellish. It may seem like a lot but it’s really not, Super fun to add glitter, sprays, inks etc to your paste, give it a try and share over on the Show N Tell page!
Please share your makes this month over on the Unity Facebook group you can find it HERE!
Happy Crafting My Friends,
Dawn Bryson
Supplies used Stamp: Boo-Tifully disguised, Stencil Unity Clouds & Waves, and stars from my stash, Wilted Violet for the background. Pattern paper was in my scrap pile Image colored with copics!
