Hello! It’s Noelle again and this is my last month hosting the card challenges! 🙁 It is always sad to know it is the last month! Luckily, we have 5 weeks!
Welcome to the December Card Challenge! We decided to make this as easy as possible for such a busy month! There is only one rule for the whole challenge!
This months challenge is ANYTHING GOES!
The only rule is USE A UNITY STAMP!
Do you need a card? A tag? A gift bag? A wine bottle tag? A gift card envelope? A door hanger? Gift wrap? A bookmark? The list goes on and on, the answer is YES!!! As long as you use a Unity stamp! How easy is that?
I decided to make a layered bookmark. I had to pull out the BIG ONE to use these old dies! They are wood and about an inch thick! One of my best friends Terry, gave them to me when she closed Creative Cuts & More. She is gone now, so I might have hugged them and shed a few tears before I got started. <3
You can’t really see the back layer, but because I only attach them with an eyelet at the top I like to decorate both of them. And honestly, I will emboss Kitten Kaleidoscope every chance I get! Look at all those cats!
I hope no one ever accuses me of only having one oar in the water and going in circles all day, and puts cameras in my stamp room. Because I am not so sure I could prove myself innocent with the amount of time I admire embossed things or me smiling at melting embossing powder. LOL But I would just have everyone gather around, show them how to do it and see how they look as the powder melts and then how they too happily admire the magic they just preformed! Then I would have some new friends and get to keep my kids too right? LOL
Then I got busy on the top layer, embossing of course on water color paper. I used Peek-A-Boo Cats and wished my bookmark was wider for those darling paws! LOL
I water colored the cats with Simply Arts watercolors. Their noses and ears are a faint pink, but I don’t think it shows up very well.
I set the eyelet with the We R Memory Keepers Cropodile eyelet setter. That is another magical thing! I remember 25 years ago waking my husband up pounding the life out of eyelets with a hammer and looking up and seeing his bed head looking at me like I had gone mad hammering away in the middle of the night not having a clue how loud I was being! LOL That is one patient man! He puts up with all my shenanigans and I am sure he loves the Cropadile too and doesn’t even know it! LOL
Do y’all have an ikea? This is how I store all my embellishments by color! Ribbons on one side and all the metal etc on the other. All stacked up, nice and neat! I decided I needed all 3 colors of ribbon!
Then I decided it was too plain, I needed a solid pink water colored heart! Chatty Hearts to the rescue! I am so sorry! There might be a plate issue with this stamp set at the moment! I will come back and update as soon as I find out! *Edited, it is back on the website! And on sale WHOOP WHOOP!!
Such a fun bookmark! You can cut another layer just on white cardstock and glue it on the back and write a note! Slide it in a book for a gift, hang it on a bottle of wine, leave it on your friends tree or coffee table, the possibilities are endless! Just have fun making it and know your favorite reader will love it! Not everyone has a kindle!
