3 Times as Merry in a Box

Happy Friday, Unies! It’s Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules back on the blog sharing this fun dimensional box card that is full of merry…  3 Times as Merry to be exact!  This new vintage gnome is bound to bring the merry this holiday season, so I boxed him up!

This fun shadow box card was fun to fill. I started with stamping the string of lights twice so it looked like they were connected. I made two sets of these lights.  This gave me enough length to trim them to size later. Next I stamped the star firs and masked it to stamp the gnome with his tree. Colored it all and fussy cut them.

Copics used:

  •  Reds: R89, E19, E07
  •  White: C0
  •  Beard: W2, W0
  •  Shoes: C8, C6, C4
  •  Tree: YG99, YG97, YG95
  •  Ornaments and Lights: RV19, RV17, YR23, Y26, FYG2, YG06, BG07, BG15

I used the “merry christmas” from Greetings of the Season die set for the sentiment. To match the reds, I used the same Copics used for red and colored some white card stock and then die cut the letters. Then I used white card stock as the outline die.  This is an awesome die set for easy holiday. card making!

When adding the lights, I glued them at angles. This would be cute with those twinkle lights too!

Unity supplies used:

  •  3 Times as Merry Stamp Kit
  •  Greetings of the Season Die Set

I hope you enjoyed this quick blog and found some inspiration! Make sure to check out all of the fun new releases and don’t miss out on the great die sets available for the holiday season!

Until next time… Happy Crafting!

Feel the Merry in a Box

Happy Friday!  I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with lots of love and good eats.  This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules and today I’m sharing Pooh in a box!  Yep, this is a dimensional card that creates a lovely holiday scene with the Winnie the Pooh: Feel the Merry stamp set and the Itty Bitty: Struggle is Part of It.  I put up my Christmas tree yesterday with my family and thought of this sweet stamp set.

Now, you can add dimension with this stamp set without this box set by doing the following:

Step 1.  Stamp the image and only color Christopher Robin, Pooh and all below.

Step 2.  Fussy cut them out.

Step 3.  Stamp the image again and color the tree and color in the edges of the rest of the image using one of the colors used for that spot.  {For example:  Use one of the bright greens to color Christopher’s jacket, blue for his jeans, brown for his boots… etc.} This will be covered, but it looks better when you look at the card at an angle.

Step 4.  Fussy Cut the whole image out.

Step 5.  Using foam adhesive squares or strips, adhere the larger fussy cut one to the background.

Step 6.  Using more foam adhesive, layer the fussy cut Christopher and Pooh over the first layer.  Line them up as best you can and this will add so much dimension to this image.

For this box card, I did use a die set to help create this scene, but the concept was the same.  To add another layer, I stamped and fussy cut the books from the Struggle is Part of It Itty Bitty stamp set. I liked the idea of these two reading by the Christmas tree.

Here’s an over the top angle to show you had the layers stick out and can fold down when closing the card to place in an A2-sized envelope.  For a finishing touch, I used a sticker from the Idea-Ology Spiral Bound Sticker Book and stamped the sentiment on it.

Together We Do More

Happy Friday!  I’m so excited to share this card because it features a few of my favorite Angie Girls and a sentiment from one of my favorite stamp sets:  “Together We Do More.”  Hi everyone. This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules and today I’m sharing a pop-up shadow box inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s tutorial video and inspired by this weekends #PaperCraftersUniteAgainstRacism Instagram Hop.  This hop is all about raising awareness and bringing us all together.  And I feel like Unity does that for us too.

I think what made me fall in love with Unity is their diversity.  I know some people aren’t crazy about the faceless girls, but to me, it allows me to envision the faces of friends and families.  This person can be anyone and everyone.

This card is a fun pop-up shadow box card.  I used three different stamp sets:

  •  Together We Do More
  •  Nia Girl
  •  Kara and Melissa Girls

For more information on how to make this card, click here to see Jennifer McGuire’s awesome video that goes over measurements and assembly of similar style cards.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you’re inspired not only by this type of card, but by the girls of Unity!  Until next time…

Happy Crafting!

Jules
