You’re the Zest

There’s something about lemons that instantly makes me smile. Maybe it’s their cheerful yellow color, the promise of sunny days, or the fresh, uplifting feeling they bring. The June 2026 Whit Kit, You’re the Zest, captures all of that happiness in one beautifully coordinated kit!

For today’s card, I wanted to create a design that felt bright, fresh, and full of summer charm. The gorgeous lemon cluster takes center stage, surrounded by delicate blossoms and lush green leaves. Colored with alcohol markers, the lemons practically glow against the stunning blue patterned background, creating that classic lemon-and-blue color combination that never goes out of style.

One of my favorite things about the You’re the Zest kit is that it truly includes everything you need to create cohesive, lemony-sweet cards. Welcome To The Neighborhood Pop Up Houses – Whit Kit

Welcome, Gaylynn here.  Today, I am sharing a fun welcome to the neighborhood housewarming card.  It features little houses in an outdoor scene from the December 2024 Whit Kit card kit.

Helpful Tips:

  1. Prepare an A2-sized card base 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ in white.

  2. Trim or die-cut two card front panels in green.

  3. Spritz with water mist and then dry emboss both green panels in a leaf pattern.

  4. Stamp and color the owl on white cardstock. I used Copic marker coloring but use what you have.

  5. Add white dots to the owl’s cheeks.

  6. Fussy cut the owl.

  7. Die-cut or hand trim a leaf from one of the embossing panels.

  8. Stamp then trim or die-cut the sentiment on white.

  9. Layer and adhere everything to the card front using both flat and foam tape.

3 Ways to Make Fun Backgrounds with Nuvo Shimmer Powders

Hi friends! It’s Whit here with another fun blog post featuring this months card kit and it’s full of so much crafty goodness I can hardly stand it!

Here’s a peek at what’s inside:

I am loving how all of the elements came together to complete this months kit. The stamp set is HUGE and so awesome to color up or simply stamp out in black ink on any fun background or pattern paper. The watercolor paper and shimmer powders work together flawlessly to create fun backgrounds and guess what?! You can even watercolor with these beauties! And lastly– that fun marbled paper pack is going to be one that pairs with so much in your collection- I love the classy and timeless look.

This month I wanted to show you how versatile the products are inside of this kit and share a few of my ideas that I’ve been really excited to try out.

I love how all of these turned out! They are quick, easy, and so pretty to have on hand to pair with the perfect stamped image from your collection. Take a day and create a ton to build up your stash!

Here’s a closer look at that striped background and faux alcohol ink background:

 

I decided to use the gold background today to complete my card and I am loving the mix of the gold shimmer powder background with the Marble paper pack.

 

The bold watercolor florals really pair well with the shimmer and shine elements.

Terrarium Builder Cards

Hi, friends! Whit here with something I am very excited to share with you! I have been itching to show you this awesome Terrarium builder stamp set that is included in the February 2021 Card Kit — here’s a peek at what’s inside the full kit:

Sandhya Iyer is always able to make my ideas become a reality and make them even better than I imagined- She created this awesome stamp set and it’s so much fun to create with. The metal dies for the stamps make this set super versatile and easy to work with.

I am going to share with you 2 different ways to use this set- using the metal dies for a fun layered effect with each of the stamped elements- as well as without the dies doing some super simple stamping and layering.

So without further ado- let’s hop into creating!

 

I thought it would be really fun to create a little non-tradtional card with a sweet message on the back that I can give to a friend- something they can display on their desk or around their house as a positive reminder.

  1. I started by die cutting out the large terrarium with white card stock- I then taped it down on white paper temporarily to cut around the whole outline to create the backside of the card. 
  2. Next I grabbed those super pretty inks included in the set and got to stamping the succulents! You can actually come up with so many different looks with just the 3 inks- I layered some colors together to create the look of two toned succulents. 
  3. Now on to the die cutting! I simply taped the die cuts over the top of each of my little succ-y’s to have them perfectly cut out.
  4. Finally I stamped the little rocks across the bottom in a super faint grey ink to ground the images and got to playing around with placement and glued them down how I liked it using liquid glue. 
  5. I love how you can layer up each little stamped element when you die cut them out to give the look of dimension without adding bulk with foam tape. The hardest part was deciding how I wanted it all arranged.

Finishing touches for this little greeting was adding a little hole punch at the top for some burlap ribbon and tying a cute bow. And then adding the sentiment of your choice across the front. 

 

The card version came together super quickly- here is a peek at the same stamp set and ink colors using no dies but simply layering up the stamped images over the top of each other. It takes a little bit of strategic planning as far as colors used but totally doable!

 

  1. I simply started by stamping out the large terrarium in light grey ink inside of my MISTI simply for a guide as to where it would be situated on for perfect succulent placement. I just kept the stamp inside of my MISTI so I can stick the panel back in at the end and stamp it in black over the top. 
  2. Next i grabbed those cute little succulent stamps and just got to stamping! First i started with the rocks as a sort of guide to where the succulents should be sitting. I used a light grey ink and then just ink blended a bit of brown ink over the top to add a bit more color. 
  3. Next I figured out where I wanted those dark purple succulents and stamped those- I knew that since the color was so dark it would be hard to layer around them if that color was in the back. Finally i just simply stamped the other little elements in greens going right over the top of the purples- it does show a bit through the back but I actually liked the look. {I didn’t do any masking– but you certainly can if you wanted a more precise look.} 
  4. Once I stamped out all of the succulents and liked how it was looking I popped the whole panel back into my MISTI and then stamped the terrarium in black. 
  5. I wanted to add a bit of dimension to this clean and simple card so I cut out the entire image and then foam taped it on top of a die cut white card base. 
  6. I did add a little hole punch at the top of the terrarium to add some string to make it look like the whole thing was hanging. To add a bit more detail I made a cute bow and glued it down over the top.

I love the combination of white and kraft so I knew i wanted to have the sentiment stamped on kraft- the banner detail totally works with our clean and simple vibe to finish of this fun card.

Hi friends! It’s Whit here with a super fun winter card I am excited to share with you.

Loving the detail the Glossy Accents add to this snowglobe card– its a little hard to capture a great photo with that shine- but in person just trust it’s awesome!

The chunky glitters inside of this globe almost look as though its all shook up and snow is falling! It’s a fun detail on this card.
