Layered Tea Bag Card ~ Tea Lovers

Hi there, Gaylynn here. Here, I made a layered tea bag card for tea lovers with stamped tea bags in a CAS clean and simple design.

I like the fun pun sentiments that this stamp set includes.  This was quick and easy to make.

Helpful tips:
To make this flat layered tea bag card & envelope, prepare an A2 sized card base in color cardstock along with an envelope.  Next, trim or die-cut a white background card front layer.  Onto the white layer, stamp one of the teabags and a sentiment.  Then, onto another piece of cardstock, stamp two more teabags with sentiments.  Now, color in the teabags.  I used Copic markers, but use what you have.  Next, fussy cut (cut out) the two extra teabags.  Finally, using flat double-sided tape or glue, layer and overlap the teabags with the card front and then place the panel onto the card base, to finish.

Watercolor graduation cap wobble card.

Hello and welcome, Gaylynn here. Here is another project for the Unity blog. I have a watercolor graduation wobble card with a bit of humor.  This one was made simple for a guy or gal.

For this card, I only used the cap at the stamp focus along with a fun sentiment.

Sentiment:  Nice hat.  Congrats.

Helpful tips:
For this project, begin by preparing an A2 sized card base in white.  Also, onto the smooth side of the watercolor cardstock, stamp the grad cap full stamp.  Next, add your choice of loose watercolor to the cap only.  Then, add light gray shading around the cap stamping.  (I used a watered-down black watercolor to get the light gray shade.)  Once dry, fussy cut (cut out) the cap.  Next, onto the card base, lightly stencil a background.  I chose a sunburst pattern.  Also, over the stenciling, pop up the grad hat using an action wobble spring for an interactive element.  Then, stamp the sentiments onto patterned paper and trim or die-cut a sentiment panel.  Finally, layer the sentiment panel, to finish.

Holiday trees card ~ clean and simple embossing

Hello, it’s Gaylynn. First of all, I want to wish you and yours a very happy holiday season and year ahead.  Thank you for being so supportive.  For today, I am sharing a holiday card with clean and simple embossing.  This card was made with stamped trees, snow drifts and fussy cutting.

Send pretty yet simple holiday greetings with a card like this one.  No coloring is involved.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for making this card using clean and simple embossing.  To begin, prepare an A2 sized card base in white.  Also, trim or die-cut a light blue background panel and snow drifts.  Add a bit of gray marker or ink blending to the snow edges for dimension.  Then, stamp and trim the sentiment panel.  Next, using a stamp positioning tool, stamp and heat emboss the trees in white over the green card stock.  Also, heat set the embossing.  Once set, fussy cut (cut out) the trees individually.  Next, to assemble the card, adhere the blue background to the card base.  Using foam and flat double-sided tape, stagger and layer three snow drift pieces and the trees.  Finally, add the sentiment panel, to finish.

Tropical Christmas card with Copic marker coloring

Hello, it’s Gaylynn. Today, I am sharing a tropical Christmas card with Copic marker coloring.  Most markers or color mediums are fine to use with compatible ink for stamping.

 

This is a great holiday card for those of us who live in tropical climates year-round.  We don’t have snow but still enjoy the holiday season and traditions.

Helpful tips:
In summary, here are helpful tips for making this tropical Christmas card with Copic marker coloring.  To begin, prepare an A2 sized card base in white.  Then, die-cut a cover background or emboss a background panel.  Next, stamp the hibiscus flower using alcohol friendly ink onto white cardstock.  Then, begin coloring in the flowers and the leaves using blended shades of the same color family.  I used tropical colors for a clean and bright look.  Next, fussy cut (cut out) the flower and the sentiment.  Finally, using foam tape, layer the background, the flower, the sentiment and gems over the background, to finish.

Easy paper piecing holiday bulbs card

Hello, Gaylynn here.  Today, I am sharing an easy paper piecing holiday bulbs card.  This card features the lovely Uniquely Unity membership kit for October 2022.

This card has a clean and simple look to it.  I kept it easy with just bits of patterned paper to accent.

For this card, I am including a quick tip video tutorial for the process.

Helpful tips:
In summary, these are helpful tips using a card technique for paper piecing holiday bulbs.  To begin, stamp the bulbs four times using black Copic-friendly ink or ink for use with your markers.  Stamp once onto white cardstock and three times onto three different patterned paper sheets.  Next, die-cut the white cardstock stamping to fit onto your card base.  Then, onto the patterned paper bulbs, add light marker shading around the edges of the bulbs in coordinating colors.  Next, fussy cut (cut out) the bulbs individually from the patterned paper for the bulbs that you want to use.  Then, ink the edges of each bulb with either a marker or distress ink.  Next, stamp and trim the sentiment and cut accent paper strips.  Also, add twine or cording.  Finally, layer it all onto the card base, to finish.

Using ink sprays 2 ways ~ Mixed media techniques

Hello, it’s Gaylynn.  Today, I am sharing a way of using ink sprays 2 ways for mixed media projects.  These cards use the same ink yet have very different looks.

Using ink sprays 2 ways is so easy to do.  Creating a clean and simple card or a layered mixed media card are just two of many options for ink sprays.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for using ink sprays 2 ways for two very different card looks.  To begin, trim a large piece of watercolor card stock.  Then, trim and stamp the birthday layer.  Also, stamp, trim and color the gnome panel.  Next. using a craft sheet, protect your craft space from ink sprays.  Then. over a large piece of watercolor paper, spritz two colors over the paper.  I used one shade on each end.  Also, blot any puddles and then heat set completely.  Next, add stenciling over the ink spray panel and let it dry completely.
For another look, dip the birthday panel into the leftover watercolor that is on the craft sheet.  Use ink smooshing to cover that birthday panel, then dry.  {Also, clean all tools and your craft space from ink and past, before they dry.}  Finally, layer each card, to finish.

Miss You – Artsy Florals

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.

Today I had tons of fun with some of the smaller elements in this kit, paired up with some of the beautiful florals for an bright and fun layered bit of stamping!

I started off by stamping my large black blooms on my panel using my stamp positioner. I knew they would be the focal point of the design, so I wanted to get them placed just right. Then I stamped the 3 butterflies around them. This was the base of my card!

Then I grabbed some bright and fun colors of ink, and used the two little splatter images to add fun pops of color – trying my best to keep it random – which is harder than it sounds actually!Once I finished, it still felt like it needed something, so I grabbed a larger floral image, and stamped it over the top in a very soft gray color – soft enough to see and add a touch of texture, but not so dark and bold that it took away from the design.

One think I forgot to plan for, was a sentiment! Oops! I almost left it without a sentiment – since then it would have been perfect for any occasion – and all the sentiments in the May kit were too large to fit anywhere that I liked. I finally went back to my February 2022 Kit of the Month, and grabbed a tiny sentiment from it to stamp in black. Finished off with a twine bow glued on the bottom of the darker flower, a few sparkly sequins scattered around, and that panel mounted on an aqua cardbase!
