CAS Storybook Ducklings

Good morning! Heather here with the next card in my series featuring Clean and Simple techniques! This week’s technique features some adorable tiny images from Precious and Sweet, and the perfect and hilarious sentiment from Every Single Day – the June 2018 Sentiment Kit!

Here is this week’s video showing you how this simple card came together:

Using tiny images as a focal point on your card is a great way to pack some punch with the meaning of your card, but also still leave lots of white space in the surrounding area. Besides…could those little ducks be ANY cuter?!?!?

Pairing up the perfect sentiment to really enhance your images is also super helpful! Can you see how much more punch is added to this card with the combination of that image with that particular sentiment?

And as a bonus, it is also super easy to step up a CAS card with a couple more layers and colors. This second card is another I made using the exact same image and coloring, but this time adding a die cut frame around it and a blue cardbase.

I also popped the frame up on a bit of foam adhesive for some added dimension. Which way do you prefer this card? Super clean and simple, or the stepped up version with more layers?

Kraft, Vellum, and White Layered Scenes

Good morning! Heather here with a trio of soft and neutral colored cards featuring three different Lisa Glanz images – Fall Breeze Bright Leaves, Wishing and Wishing, and Special Delivery Mouse – as well as a sentiment kit from June 2018 – …Every Single Day.

Here is this week’s video showing how I created these cards:

These cards came together so quickly and easily – as you can see in the video! I also include some tips for heat embossing on vellum, and attaching vellum panels to your cards.

I also love how adding a touch of distress oxide inks helps change up one of the kraft layers to add more dimension and help the images pop.

And white paint splatters are always a good idea, don’t you think?

Simple Copic Color Flicking Technique

Good morning! This is Heather with another card and technique video featuring Copic Coloring – just a different technique this time around! Last week was a heavy coloring watercolor look – this time is a really simple and easy technique – mainly useful for florals, although I’m sure there are lots of pattern stamp images that would work well for this also.. For this card I used the June 2018 Sentiment Kit, Every Single Day – such a beautiful kit!

Here is the video showing my coloring technique for this:

The Copic colors I used for this are: R22, YR04, Y15, YG03, B02, and W1.

Once the video finished, I added added a few Nuvo Crystal Jewel Drops just for fun.

I love this for simple quick coloring – the hint of color with the white areas is fun, and great for beginners. I enjoy it when I don’t have the time or energy to do a super intricate coloring job!
