Hello Everyone!

Donna here with you today sharing a card I created using the current Layers of Life kit.

These kits always touch my heart…sentimental I guess.

This month’s kit is titled :

Give it Up – Let it Go

I used an A2 size card, added distress inks to the edges and then gently tore around the entire card using a distress tool.  Scissors work just as well if you don’t happen to have a tool on hand.

To get a deeper/contrasting color on the sentiment area I shaded in with Copic markers and blended it all together. Finishing up by adding some chipboard birdies that I colored black and finally adding the random arrows from the  Design your Week kit. Those were stamped with Vintage Photo distress ink by Tim Holtz.

SMAK Saturday with Angeline/Donna

Happy Christmas Weekend! The big 25th is almost here and I am sure most of you are busy eating, spending time with loved ones or just cozying up reading a book (or perhaps still making last minute Christmas cards!)

 I am one of those who is doing last minute gift hunting and wrapping up presents, so do forgive me for not making any projects today. GOOD NEWS is, our beautiful Donna made some stunning samples using this month’s SMAK kit “Let it go” and she so graciously allowed me to share her samples with you today. SMAK/LOL – Rainbow Doily

Good morning! Heather here, and I’m popping in this morning with a card featuring both the new December SMAK Kit: Let it Go and the December LOL Kit: Troubles Be Few – both so pretty, and they work so well together too! Here is a peek at them:

 

I’ve been on a bit of a rainbow kick lately – there are so many fun ways to use that on cards, and when I saw this doily I thought it would be perfect to color in with rainbow colors!

I used my Copic markers to color it in with two shades of each of the rainbow colors, this gives some variance in each color as well which was fun!

Once I had it colored in, I added some texture and fun interest by adding some Nuvo Jewel Drops on it. I used coordinating colors – the Jewel drops are transparent but colored, so it enhanced the colors but you can still see the image clearly underneath which is what I wanted. Isn’t that texture delicious?!?!?!?

September SMAK

Happy Saturday everyone and for those of you starting a 3-day weekend…have a fabulous one!
 
The card I’m sharing with you was quite the labor-of-love.  My sister-in-law’s parents are/were in an assisted living facility in Houston.  They were evacuated early in the week and spend almost 48 hours being bussed from shelter to shelter before finally being taken to an associate facility in San Antonio.  I made this card for her in the hopes that she now has some peace knowing they are safe and sheltered with the care they need.
 
This card is colored with distress markers and ink with some accents using white colored pencil and black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I just adore the both the September SMAK and LOL kits.  Here is a full view of them.

SMAK / LOL ~ There are always flowers.

Hi, it’s Gaylynn.  Today, I am sharing a card made from the July 2017 Layers of Life kit and a past Stamp of the Week.
Sentiment:  I miss you a little too much, a little too often and a little more every day.
Watercolor was used to color in the daisies.  I trimmed the card using lace, lacey die-cuts and patterned paper.

Stamping Saturday SMAK Style!

Good morning! 
Happy stamping Saturday with me Echo.
I am swooning over this SMAK kit. So many beautiful images! 
My project today was a window card. I thought it would fun to make a card with this kit! The window opens up and has a message inside, okay maybe two. I just couldn’t decide so I used 3 out of the 4 sentiments that come in this kit.
