Mountain Night Sky Scene

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.

Today I’ve created a fun mountain night sky scene to share!

Here is the video for today’s card:

Distress oxides blend together to create the night sky on a circle die cut – and lots of white paint and gold splatters add the starry night sky feeling.

Heat embossing the mountains on navy cardstock helps reinforce the night feeling – keeping the detail of the mountains, but keeping them dark and shadowed as well.

A coordinating sentiment and a touch of twine finish this card off!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!

Watercolor and Mica Flake Sparkle

Here is this week’s video sharing how this card came together:

I love the bright and bold color combo of these watercolors – so happy!

And mica flakes are such a great way to add texture and sparkle – so much more coarse and glittery than normal fine glitter.

Sentiment heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock is the perfect finishing touch – it just pops on that background!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!

Vintage with a Pop of Color

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.

Today I’m sharing a card with a simple vintage feel, and using one of the freebies included with my kit this month!

Here is this week’s video sharing how this card came together:

I love the neutral colors, with just a pop of sparkly red from the jewel hearts.

A bit of simple ink blending really draws the eye into the center of the panel – making the simple black stamping effective.

The sentiment stamped on a panel of white cardstock helps it pop from the background. And isn’t that a wonderful sentiment?!?

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!

Vellum Layered Butterfly

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.

Today’s card is a super clean and simple design, but with a fun little layered twist to make it nice and elegant!

It was also a card that changed as I created – I originally was going to color the base image with Copic markers, then the vellum layer was going to be heat embossed in white over the top. But my mind changed as I began stamping – am I the only one who does that?

Here is this week’s video sharing how this card came together:

Adhering the vellum only in the center of the butterfly leaves that lovely dimension – but it is still flat and basically one layer – perfect for mailing!

And gold, black, and white is always such a classic combo – don’t you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!

Sparkly Desert Sunset House Scene

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Today I’m using that darling house image from the kit – at first I thought about creating a snowy background scene, but I started looking at the plants around the house, and felt like it needed something different. Not everyone has snowy winter skies at this time of year, right? So…this is what I ended up with!

Here is this week’s video sharing how this card came together:

I used my Daniel Smith watercolors to create this background – but you could do something similar with distress inks and blend out a background as well if you wanted! Lots of gold splatter from my Starry Colors palette is another nice touch.

I carefully fussy cut out that sentiment, and mounted it with foam adhesive for some fun dimension – just like the panel with the house.

Then I just added some jute string along the bottom to finish it off!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
