Embellished open window card ~ sending hugs

Hi there, Gaylynn here.  For today, I share one way to make an embellished open window card with simple stamping and coloring.

To start, I made this card with interest on the inside and the outside.  I kept the colors monochromatic in green tones.

Also, this is the card when it is closed.  The front is an open window cut out and includes delicate greenery embellishments.

And, this is the front up close.

Additionally, for the inside of this embellished open window card, I included a stamped and colored oval layer.  Using light pencil markers, I positioned it to show up in the center of the outside oval card opening.  Copic markers were used for the coloring in this example.  Adhesive pearls and leafy die-cuts were used to accent the front of the card.  Also, I used color cardstock this time for the card base to add to the monochromatic tones.

Now, here is a look at the card opened up.

Finally, this is a peek at the process of making these vintage cards.

Don’t forget, you can find my other Unity Stamp Co. features and supply links below:

Thank you for visiting and have a lovely day.

Simple Colorblock Stamping

Good morning! This is Heather with a set of cards using a simple and fun colorblocking technique and a lovely Phyllis Harris stamp set called Grey Skies Happy – I always ADORE the sweet  images from Phyllis Harris – they so perfectly capture childhood!

Here is the video for this trio of cards sharing my process:

The awesome thing about this technique is that you get a lot of bang for your buck – 3 cards with fairly minimal effort! And since no coloring is required, these would be great for creating gift sets, party invitations, or anything where you need a fairly large number of cards in a short space of time.

I used simple pattern paper for my cards since I like the slight texture – but these would also be fun with your favorite solid cardstock colors!

So fun to play with different color combos too!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

One Layer Cowboy Birthday Card

Good morning! Heather here today with a sweet little one layer birthday card for the littlest cowboy in your life! Guy cards – even for little guys – can be so hard to keep simple enough for them to like, so it was fun to put together this card keeping the layers down to nothing but the one that is actually the cardbase, but also add some interest with some masking and background stamping!

Here is the video sharing my process for this card:

I mentioned in the video as well, but when I am doing a masked background, I prefer to do that part first, then color in my image – simply because then if I make a mistake I haven’t already invested the time and energy to do all my coloring.

The two stamp sets I used for this card are the darling Phyllis Harris Determination and one of my favorite go to birthday sentiment sets – SO Glad You Were Born. I find I need lots of birthday cards – and this one is so very versatile that I use it a LOT!

Hope this helps you next time you have a birthday card to make for the a little guy! Thanks for stopping by – and have a wonderful day!

Happy Friday ~ New release inspiration.

Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with a few current release projects and quick tip videos.
I love everything about this new Realize kit by Phyllis Harris, especially the ocean, the beach, the lighthouse and the amazing sentiment.
I made a quick tip video focusing on the embellishment panels.
And here is another fabulous Phyllis Harris kit, Beauty In Everything.
This one also has a quick tip video tutorial, focusing on sunrise or sunset.
And finally, here is a card made from the May 2017 Kit of the Month called Free Your Dreams.
I love the variety you get each month, not to mention the beautiful art.
For this quick tip video, I focus on the easy layers and frames.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Inspiration Wednesday with Angeline

Happy Wednesday 🙂
Angeline here to share with you a card-in-the-making I made, inspired by this photo (found here)

I’ve always imagined being in a sunflower field — how beautiful it is going to be with all the sunflowers surrounding me. And this stamp by Phyllis Harris “Earth laugh in flowers” is just perfect!
Unity Stamp: Inspiration Wednesday with Angeline #unitystampco #scrappyscrappy #phyllisharris #watercolor #card #cardmaking #papercraft
I stamped the image onto some watercolor paper using some brown ink, then colored it in using my Prima Pastel Dreams watercolors for that soft look.
Do you enjoy painting with watercolors?
I like this quote I found:
Have an awesome week ahead and “clean out” a corner of your mind 🙂 Creativity is waiting for you.
