Scrapbook Layout

June 10, 2022 - by Julissa Sargo

Friends Who Laugh in Flowers

Happy Friday friends!  This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules and today I’m sharing a scrapbook layout using the new Laughs in Flowers stamp set designed by Ann Corbiere-Scott.  This beautiful, giant floral stamp is perfect for slimline cards, but I decided to go bigger and did a 8.5″ x 11″ scrapbook layout.

The photo in this layout was from the 2019 Junkie Fest.  If you’ve never heard of Junkie Fest, it was an amazing even (pre-pandemic) that allowed so many crafters to come together to learn from some of great ones!  This is where my little dream of meeting the awesome people of Unity Stamp Company came true! ❤️

I travelled across the country with my friend, Cindy… she’s my crafty enabling travel buddy!  She’s the pretty lady on the far left.  We had such a great time in the Unity class learning about mixed media tags and even did a fun light up card!  These ladies and Nic were so kind, funny and oh so creative!  It’s no wonder we all love them so much!

This giant floral image was a great way to highlight this beautiful moment in my crafty life.  And I love that Unity has their own die, so I had to add it!  I’ll have this framed in my craft room to remind of all the amazing people I’ve been so fortunate to cross paths with!

I hope that you all have crafty dreams that come true and that you get to make crafty friends all over the world that will inspire you to create and smile!

Until next time… Happy Crafting!

Mixed media scrapbook layout pages & handmade accents

Hello, Gaylynn here.  For technique time today, I share four scrapbook layout pages that coordinate using handmade elements as accents.  These pages incorporate a variety of techniques and mediums which work together beautifully.

These are the scrapbook layout pages before photos were added.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for scrapbook layout pages.  Please note, refer to the video for the detailed steps and the tutorial.  To begin, have a theme or coordinating colors in mind and have those supplies for the project on hand.  Next, make your own handmade accents and elements by stamping, embossing and adding watercolor to those accent pieces.  Then, once dry, trim or fussy cut (cut out) the handmade elements.  Now, create a stenciled corner background onto each of the cardstock scrapbook layout pages.  Finally, add accent frame stamping and then adhere the handmade elements, to finish.

The individual scrapbook layout pages show the details a bit closer.

Here is my video tutorial for this project.  It will detail the full process.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Blow Your Mind, Hug, I Am Who I Am, Say It With Love, Hey Friend, Time To Be Happy Again, Summer Celebration;
Also, original Misti, flat and foam double-sided clear tape, Ranger products gold embossing powder, jet black archival ink, distress oxide ink pads in fossilized amber, worn lipstick, wilted violet, walnut stain, mini mister, plastic craft mat, and watercolor paper; Versamark ink, heat tool, blending brush, TCW Rebekah Meier Designs 6×6″ mini rosetta stencil, Ken Oliver Crafts color burst powders in grape jelly and razzle berry; painter’s tape, Fiskars paper trimmer.

SMAK Saturday Scrapbook

Happy Saturday! It’s Rachel stopping in today to share a scrapbook page showcasing the newest SMAK “Life is What You Make It” February kit.

There are so many beautiful images in the February SMAK, but I was especially drawn to the gorgeous circle stamps…
I stamped several of the flowers, colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut them. I also stamped the dotted spiral onto some patterned paper. All circles were die cut with nesting circle dies.
Now that I have all of my circles, it was time to assemble! This was a pretty quick scrapbook page to put together.

Once I was finished with this page, I still had a lot of left over circles and flowers. So I used those to create a second layout in a matter of minutes.
The SMAK kits are $26 a month and are filled with stunning large stamps that are perfect for scrapbooking and mixed media projects! Unity also has a more affordable mixed media subscription called Layers of Life (LOL) which is only $11.99 a month!
So glad you took some time from your weekend to visit the Unity blog! Have a wonderful and stampy Saturday 🙂

A Christmas Layout – Inspiration Wednesday

Merry Christmas Eve!
I hope you are all enjoying some time with family and friends over the holidays.
Since it’s Christmas Eve, I wanted to share a scrapbook page of my holiday card for 2014…
There are my precious innocent fur babies wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!
I used the scrapbook sketch from this month’s Unity Be Inspired Challenge.
For this layout I used SMAK October 2014, SMAK July 2014, SMAK November 2014, Tiny Number Tags, and Be Jolly.
I stamped with green and red acrylic paint for the background, and used dye ink for the tag and sentiment.
Make sure you check out the Unity Challenge! You can enter for a chance to win over $100 in Unity prizes!!
Have a very Merry Christmas… from my fur babies to yours 🙂

SMAK down Saturday!!

It seems I may sound like a broken record, but I love me some SMAK stamps!  I am strictly a scrapbooker and I am here to testify that you can use these stamps over and over again on all sorts of layouts and project life pages.  Over. And. Over. Again.  Seriously.  It’s a great investment.  Plus you don’t have to shop around or leave your house.  it just comes automatically to you mailbox each and EVERY month! You just can’t beat that with a stick, now can you?!

Here is a peek at this month’s(June 2-14) kit:

Because I like to mix and match my smack kits, I also included stamps from the January SMAk kit and March SMAK kit as well.

Have a super, scrappy Saturday! 🙂

SMAK Saturday – My Top 5

Happy Saturday and last day of May! This is Rachel popping in to share a fun scrapbook page I created with the new June SMAK kit called “This Right Here”!
This new kit is going to be so perfect for scrapbookers. The elements are fun to use together and go great with documenting photos.

I used the great number elements to create a page of my top 5 memories from 2013. Another great thing about these kits is they pair so well with other Unity stamps! You’ll see the following Itty Bitty stamps mixed into the page: “Love Every Inch“, “One Day at a Time“, “Number, ETC“, and “Tiny Number Tags“.

Today is also the last day to get the current May LOL Kit when you subscribe!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend 🙂
