Happy Sunday crafters!  Echo here with a video tutorial using Ornamental Greetings, Whit-kit. It’s the November card kit. Shake, shake, shake! I love a good shaker card! It was so much making these shaker cards! Also would be great for shaker ornaments too!

Alternatively you can die cut a piece of fun foam to make the shakers with but, I decided to stack the frames. Then I had all the middle circles left over. So, I made gift tags with them. I stamped one of the sentiments from the card kit. I die cut the ornament top and glued it to the top and add another circle to the back. This just makes it a bit more sturdy. I stamped the to: and from: stamps from the Tiny Trees kit on the back of the gift tags.

Tone on Tone Backgrounds

Happy Friday, crafty friends!  Today I’m sharing a tone-on-tone background that will make your focal image pop.  I also wanted to use some of the older sequin mixes I had so I was inspired by the colors of this mix.  Let’s get inky!

Because this was going to be a shaker, I wanted to keep it flat.  I started by stamping the fairy from “Dragonflies and Fairies” stamp set in a Copic friendly ink.  Next, I created a mask for that image and applied it to the piece.  Using Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide, gently shaded around the image, getting lighter toward the outside.

This will create a bit of a glow around the image.  Without removing the mask, I stamped “A Walk in the Woods” background stamp in the same Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide.  This tone-on-tone allows the background to fade further from the image.  Let the Oxide ink dry or heat set it a little before removing the mask and coloring the image.

Once you’re done with coloring, put the image back into your Misti and restamp using VersaFine Clair.  This makes the lines of the image bold again.  I also splattered some Nuvo Glitter pen over the image. From here, I cut down the image and added it to a piece of purple card stock and applied the Shaker Creator.  Before sealing it, I added some of the sequins mix and some other flakes.

Doesn’t she just float off of this card?  These packets are awesome and make shaker cards easy!

Birthday Shaker Cards | Birthday Stash

Hello from Sandhya of Sanju’s Creations. Today, I am sharing how I created two birthday shaker cards with alcohol ink backgrounds and Unity stamps. I made one masculine card in blues and a feminine card in peachy shades.

Technique Details for Birthday Shaker Cards

The best part about these shaker cards is that they are flat and easy to mail. The key to making these flat shaker pouches is a pliable transparency sheet for inkjet printing. This acetate holds up well, doesn’t get scratched easily, and creates this bubbled-up effect perfect for a shaker card. It is also easy to fold over as you can see in my process video below.
