SMAK Kit Saturday with Gaylynn. The Ocean is Calling

Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with a handmade nautical card project from the January 2018 SMAK Kit called The Ocean is Calling.

Being that I am a Floridian, it delights me to see new tropical stamps, especially when they can be used in different mediums and for different occasions.  I like that these work perfectly for scrapbook, mixed media, altered art, journaling and card making projects, not to mention for both feminine and masculine themes.

SMAK Kit

For my card, I layered the net and the ship wheel stamping onto watercolor paper.  Then I used a technique called ink smooshing to watercolor the image panel.  I made a quick tip video tutorial for this ink smooshing process here.

To finish the card, I added a die-cut panel with one of the kit’s lovely sentiments, “Sometimes in the waves of change we find our true direction.”  Here is a closer look at the this watercolor card.

Happy Saturday Unies!

For anyone new out there that is what us Unity lovers call ourselves is Unies!

We are one big happy stamping family!

Today I have the 2 cards that I did with this months SMAK called Feel & Give Love.

 

I love the roses and lace background stamp in this kit! I stamped the roses in each corner then colored with copic markers. Stamped the lace background stamp and distressed the edges and a bit in the center with distress ink in tumbled glass. Added the sentiment. I love Unity sentiments.

Who doesn’t love a vintage camera? I stamped the camera and sentiment on kraft card stock and then fussy cut out camera. I colored camera and part of sentiment with Copic markers. Added it to some pretty patterned paper. This paper had a bit of a bokeh feel to it so I thought it would work.

September SMAK

Happy Saturday everyone and for those of you starting a 3-day weekend…have a fabulous one!
 
The card I’m sharing with you was quite the labor-of-love.  My sister-in-law’s parents are/were in an assisted living facility in Houston.  They were evacuated early in the week and spend almost 48 hours being bussed from shelter to shelter before finally being taken to an associate facility in San Antonio.  I made this card for her in the hopes that she now has some peace knowing they are safe and sheltered with the care they need.
 
This card is colored with distress markers and ink with some accents using white colored pencil and black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I just adore the both the September SMAK and LOL kits.  Here is a full view of them.

Happy Saturday Unity lovers!

Echo here dropping by with a couple cards I made with July’s SMAK. It’s all about traveling and adventure! Even if you don’t travel much. Life is a beautiful journey all on it’s own. 

Here it is and all of it’s beautiful glory! 

For this first card I stamped on watercolor paper and colored with distress oxide! I also used the splatter stamp from March’s Let Go & Breathe SMAK. Click here to take a peek.

 

 This card I kept it clean and simple. I stamped those beautiful butterflies taking flight and then stamped the sentiment! Matted with some die cuts and it was done! Easy peasy!

 I can’t wait for summer to slow down some and then maybe I can get some scrapbook pages done with this amazing set!

SMAK- LOL Saturday!

Hello, Unity lovers!
Echo here today with 2 projects using 
this month’s SMAK (scrapbook, mixed media, altered art kit)
I am mainly a card maker and I have no problem using the SMAK or LOL (layers of life) kits for making cards. So don’t rule out these awesome memberships if you are mainly a card maker and of course they are amazing for mixed media, art journaling, and scrapbooking! 
First up I made this card using the beautiful chandelier from the SMAK kit. I paired it with the sentiment from Glowing & Beautiful kit that was just released on Wednesday! 

I love how Unity’s stamps work so well together!
Here is June’s SMAK kit if you haven’t seen it yet! 
Next up I made another card using the SMAK kit. I love the vintage clocks in this kit!

Happy Saturday Peeps!

It’s time for some SMAK and LOL!
I love it when I get to do this post.  
Look at May’s SMAK!  I love it so much!!
 It is hard to read the sentiment on the music paper in the picture.  It says unleash your happy on the world.  That corner stamp is AWESOME!  I really love it a lot!
I may have mentioned about a hundred times I have a giant passion for butterflies.  May’s LOL did not disappoint me at all!  I embossed on textured paper and it still looks fantastic!
I hope you are all members of both kits!  They are worth every penny.  I’ll never know how I can love the new kit as much or even more as the last kit!  It amazes me month after month : )

SMAK/LOL with Mandi

Hello Friends 
It’s Mandi here showing off our new SMAK & LOL kits. 
I will start off with the new layers of life kit called Beautiful Moments. 
Here is the card I made with this stamp set.

I really like that it is a background stamp and a sentiment. 
So you can do a lot of things with it.

I used my mermaid markers to colour the background. 
 I cut another set of  butterflies and glued just the body and popped up the wings for a 3D effect. 
 Next I cut out the sentiment and glued it in place. 
I really like to break up sentiments sometimes. 
It just gives your card a whole new look.

Finally I added glossy accents to the sentiment and the butterfly.

I have to say I LOVE the brick work stamp.
