I am Me Art Journal + Picks of the Week

Hello stampers! It’s Rachel on the blog today sharing a colorful art journal page I created with some of my favorite Unity stamps.

I started with a page that I had mostly completed a couple months ago. I wanted the fun patterns to show, but not be overwhelming. I stamped this little scene which uses stamps with a lot of white space inside. This will help let the art journal patterns show through later.

I used the stamps “Spring Flower Chick“, “Create Your Day“,  and “Could I be Any Cuter?“. I also picked stamped that had a very doodle look to them to keep the page cohesive.

Now the fun part… covering it all up! I painted the rest of the page a light blue and added some white streaks as well. The paint layer is very thin so images from the original journal page still show through.

I finished off the page by writing I AM ME in block letters.
never forget it!

Time for my picks of the week! I found these two projects from the Unity Show and Tell Facebook group (make sure you join if you haven’t already!).
This altered jar by Mandi is so darling! It’s a great reminder that Unity Stamps can be used on all different types of materials and projects! The sentiment on her jar also echos the sentiment I used in my journal page. You are Enough.
This sweet page was created by Stacy. I always love seeing how other people use the same stamps in such a different way! Stacy actually altered the arms of the girl so she’s playing a flute (in my journal page, the same girl stamp is holding flowers). Such a creative way to stamp!
That’s it from me! Wishing you a creative week and officially Happy Summer!

Sail Away Canvas with Video + PICKS!

Hello chilly Tuesday! Rachel here today to share a summery fabric canvas – call it wishful thinking! I’m so ready for some warm weather…
This “Sail Away” stamp by Susan Weckesser is easily on my top 10 Unity stamps list!
I created this canvas using ALL fabric materials… it was very out of my comfort but I love the end result!

I even put together a full process video for your viewing pleasure πŸ˜‰

Time for a couple picks! I found two projects that also seemed to be summer-inspired.
I found this summer card by Amber Kroening in the Unity Be Inspired Challenge. I love how she paired those peaceful colors to those Adirondack beach chairs!
I found this tag by Crystal Rodner in the Unity Show and Tell page. I love Crystal’s blending of those bright colors with the rich brown. And I love bird chirping weather, too… it usually means it’s warm outside!
Thanks for joining me today. I hope you enjoy the video πŸ™‚

October Guest Designer-Erika Taylor

How stinkin excited am I, that I get to continue to be the Guest Designer here at Unity??? Angela has asked for me to stay on for another month, and I’m to the moon and back again THRILLED!!!

Hello everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you a quick and easy way to make an Autumn Gift set.For this quick wrapping paper and tag combo, I’ve used the beautiful leaves from Autumn Grunge by Susan Weckesser. These leaves are truly stunning to stamp with and I love how they look once embossed.

I first stamped the leaf images on kraft post paper to create the wrapping paper. The package was then tied with some May Arts Burlap String.

Once the present was all wrapped up, I created a tag using Pan Pastels and Distress Inks. I stamped the tag with the leaf stamps to create some depth then stamped the large leaf on white card stock.

The colors are perfect for Fall and I love how those leaves turned out. Isn’t that stamp AMAZING!!!??? To get the dimension for the leaves, I used some Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots.

The whole project took about 25 minutes to do and one lucky commenter, will receive this little gift. I will announce the winner next Monday!!!

Thanks again for stopping by and thank you Unity Stamps/Angela for allowing me to continue this month, being a guest designer here at Unity.

Until next Monday,
Toodles
Erika Taylor

Susan Weckesser Stamps and Guest Designer Erika Taylor

We all have our mentors and favorite artists in this great community of ours don’t we? People that inspire us, build us up, and help us become better! Well, I’m here today to let you know that Susan Weckesser and Angela Magnuson are two of mine. These two ladies have hearts of gold, are the real deal and uplift me every day.

Hello everyone, Erika Taylor here today sharing a layout I created with some amazing Susan Weckesser stamps from Unity. These stamps are wonderful to work with, and I want to show you a layout that is all about the stamps and embossing powder.

For this layout, I used a combination of A Little Bit Washi, ABC 123 Washi, Insta-Cute and a co-branded Simple Stories Set called Splatters and Stars. I embossed all the images using Wow embossing powder and everything came together using Helmar Adhesives. Here are a few close ups of the layout.

Yes, that is a cheese head you see. My husband is a huge Packers fan, and our son thought this “hat” was too fun!!!

And here is the final project, full of Susan Weckesser stampy goodness!!!

If you love creating mixed media projects of any sort, these stamps are
AMAZING!!!! Check them out and grab a few of your favorites from the
store. You will be so glad you did.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Unity Blog today, I hope you all enjoy your Monday. Leave a comment and let me know what your favorite Susan Weckesser stamp from Unity is!

Until next time

{See all of Susan Weckesser Stamps right here}

I used a circle punch to cut out a center for the sun.
I used the awesome Zapdots by Helmar for
adding dimension to my sun center, and the adorable banner piecces.
I attached the buttons with 450 Qucik Dry Adhesive.
good Stuff!
Look, I even used this striped banner piece as my journaling block!
Clever and cute!
here is that sentiment again.
Get it.
Live it.
Stamp it!

I couldn’t help but use a few pieces of custom stamped washi from the
